@@MrT1o9P9i2 Roope was great, but did hold them back in a way. Kinda keeping them in a time warp; but the drugs sex & rock n roll type. Not the neo-classical endeavours they started on. It truly makes me sad knowing Alexi, the progeny of this group, is no longer here. After writing that, maybe Roope wasn’t a great guy. Probably just found the next big thing and leeched on with old man vibes trying to retain youth vs ageing gracefully. His live playing sucked and song writing credits would’ve been out of charity. It's mind boggling that some people really complain about their playing in this live audition! Children of Bodom has reached a whole new level of playing live... COB has finally become what they should have always been and anyone who can't understand this, probably has no idea how to play any instrument or how technically demanding these songs are. I haven't seen this kind of accuracy in their playing since Tokyo Warhearts... if ever! They've really focused on their difficulties and accuracy so that the music would sound the same it sounded on the album, and they actually keep it super fucking clean. Also, their new guitarist brings a lot on the actual live performance, since he seems to be technically very capable and clean on his playing. There are still some things that can be improved as always but personally I'm blown away and freaking happy for the direction they've chosen! I think we're going to see a completely new COB in the coming years!

I still remember this gig. It was my first festival ever and I lost my glasses in the insanley huge moshpit bc it rained so I couldn't see through my glasses anymore, which was why I took them off - big mistake. So when Alexi, may he rest in peace, announced "the biggest moshpit of the festival" while I was standing right next to an already pretty big moshpit that was then even more growing, even though I had doubts to make it out alive and without any broken bones, I jumped right into it and recognized soon that my glasses were missing. A high price to pay but I learned through it, I never took my glasses on to a concert or a festival any more ever since. "Life lessons learned the hard way", to put it in ADTR's words.

I remember when I didn't finish liking the Children of Bodom music proposal. But for reasons of interaction between friends. So unbelievably happy I caught the live there. Pouring rain and killer Playlist the feeling in the crowd was unreal.
