На 42 году ушёл из жизни Алекси Лайхо- лидер финской группы "Children of Bodom", игравшей в стиле мелодичный дэт-метал. Виртуозный гитарист и мелодист с шикарным скримом радовал любителей тяжёлой музыки более 20 лет... и вот Он на небесах..., там много хороших музыкантов...Я- старый пердун, Мне 56, и Я давно дрейфую по океану РОК-МУЗЫКИ… За долгие годы плаваний по разным морям Я услышал тысячи тысяч разных групп, играющих в разных стилях и направлениях - какие-то Мне нравились…, в какие-то Я влюблялся, но любовь со временем угасала, какие-то сразу вызывали холодок в душе- и Я просто проплывал мимо…Но иногда….иногда пазл складывался, секретный код звуков подходил к Моей душе и…услышав ЭТУ МУЗЫКУ, Я влюблялся в неё без памяти!!! За всю мою жизнь так было четыре раза…Первый раз- Мой папка, когда Мне исполнилось 10 лет, разрешил Мне самому записывать на мафон музыку- это был Nazareth 1977 года «Expect No Mercy». С тех пор и по ныне- это моя ПЕРВАЯ ЛЮБОВЬ!!! Второй раз- это был штучный товар!!! В конце семидесятых-начале восьмидесятых Я влюбился в СПЕЙС-РОК, его в основном играли французы, и среди немногих исполнителей, конечно это были Rockets. С тех пор и по ныне- это моя ВТОРАЯ ЛЮБОВЬ!!! Будучи студентом, уже после армии- не мальчик, но муж…уже владел собственным крутым катушечником, купленным на заработанные в стройотряде бабки, и имел огромную коллекцию бабин, писаных с пластов и сидюков, как и полагалось меломану…А Мой одногруппник-тоже задвинутый на музыке- был лютым металлюгой, у которого другой музы вообще не водилось, и Он давал мне на ознакомление всякие Холи Мозесы и другие Сепультуры, которые на слух Мне не ложились…И вот однажды Он даёт Мне катушку и говорит- ну а от этого даже у Меня башка через 10 минут перестаёт что либо воспринимать, а на ней -Slayer- South of Heaven…Эту катушку Я Ему вернул только недели через две…С тех пор и по ныне- это моя ТРЕТЬЯ ЛЮБОВЬ!!! И вот …22 года назад, Мой дружбан по музыке ещё со школы, который сейчас уже живёт в другом городе, и который тоже постоянно пытался Меня «утяжелить», протягивает Мне три сидюка- а там на выбор-КРАСНЫЙ-ЗЕЛЁНЫЙ-СИНИЙ, такой разный…и такой одинаковый дядька с косой- как потом оказалось-Рой!!! С тех пор и по ныне- это моя ЧЕТВЁРТАЯ ЛЮБОВЬ-CHILDREN OF BODOM!!! Семья давно спит, а Я- старый дурак- не могу…Слёзы накатываются на глаза…, но суровые сибирские мужики не плачут…Я верю, что и на небесах Алекси Лайхо сколотит Свой последний НЕБЕСНЫЙ БЭНД!!! The rhythm guitar is performed by Antti Wirman, brother of the keyboardist. Roope Latvala has already quit and Daniel Freyberg has not joined yet. So kudos for the not-so-famous guitar player who has just filled in the empty position and played that bridge brilliantly together with Alexi.

i can't believe how tired bodom's sounding here. guess it comes with age but when i think back to the stockholm knockout gig. damn, ! nevertheless i'll love this band always. in an age of countless technical noodlers, alexi gave us a guitar hero ! besides, they wrote kickass songs !!

Why can't these guys ever headline?? The most I see from them is an hour setlist! When I saw them live they played for an appalling 30 minutes! Blasphemy! I realize that this is both a high energy and musically complicated performance. Also, they aren't standing around playing progressive metal but they are definitely playing more complex music than say a typical thrash metal band and thats the type of intensity they play with. That said, can they at least get 90 minutes???

man after seeing and listening to so many of Bodom's live shows, every time I listen to the studio version of Downfall I wish it had the longer intro that they always do live. I honestly think it suits the song better to have that longer buildup and the album version feels incomplete in comparison now.

Well, feeling and technique are difficult to balance, most of the time one is overwhelming the other. Latvala could have some feeling playstyle but he plays too sloppy. Anti Wirman is a full technical guy at guitar, maybe he doesn't have much feeling but he'll never miss a note. I like Daniel atm, he is thorough and also puts feeling on his playstyle.

Bodom went bad when Kuoppala left the band. I still say this even if I have huge respect for Latvala for his time with Stone and Waltari. It just went more into screamo metal and they forgot the guitar and keyboard harmonies.
