When we visited last month they were crazy hungry in the morning even head butting people but were stuffed in the afternoon. It also gets pretty hot there in the afternoon that exhausts everyone.

I was in Nara feeding the deer years ago. I must have had the starving deer, the minute I fed one of them I was surrounded by at least a dozen. One even bit my stomach, accidentally I'm sure, but it was a great time.

29:48 OMG! Me too! I’ve had to tie my straps in a knot so they don’t come apart and fall. I know they’re designed to come apart so it doesn’t get caught on something and choke you, but they fall too often! I will see it happen to other people, and even if they don’t speak English, I will show them what I did, and they pick up their bucket and do the same. …oh how I remember Baby Simba! Such a wonderful find! Got him the day of release without ever knowing. There was no announcement like they do now. No hoard of resellers. It was just luck. Sooo many people complimenting and wanting to know where I got it. Sooo many free refills from cast members so excited to see him and hold him up like Rafiki, even days later. …he would fall! He would scratch! My daughter would want to wear him so she could be admired too, and she would drop him, bang him on stuff! His painted nose was scuffed, and his plastic paw fell off! Thankfully it didn’t get lost, but still! Holy crap! I had no intentions of selling him or anything, but still! …and then COVID happened! Shut down the parks. He was essentially my Figment, only I didn’t have to wait in a long line, just two people, who only wanted drinks.

The mayo sauce looks to me like Utah Fry Sauce. Basically just mayo and ketchup with a few seasonings mixed in.

The food overall at Tokyo Disneyland seems a lot more reasonable in price. I find myself thinking that a lot of items are great deals at Tokyo Disney and more thinking they are closer to US pricing at USJ. Food quality certainly might might be better compared to universal Orlando though.

Todaiji is pronounced "toe-dai-ji". The statues are of "asura". The Giant Buddha of Nara is that of the Vairocana Buddha. ICOCA is pronounced "i kou ka"which means "should I go?" or "I go". Completely agree on the Nintendo World's poor operational design. Thanks for the vlog, Tom!

So the beef dish with the egg. I don’t believe that was a hard boiled egg. I believe you to crack the raw egg over the beef and mix it up. So the egg was the sauce. Since you can safely eat raw eggs in Japan.

I went to a mostly empty Nintendo World in LA and had a great time and loved it. I thought the Mario kart ride was actually underrated. Remember the original land was supposed to replace kidzone at universal Orlando. I certainly can imagine the frustration when the land is crowded due to high demand and how much worse the experience can get. This was supposed to be something kids and adults could enjoy together but especially that kids would love. Universal put a lot of things to do in this land due to space constraints that are present in both parks where it exists currently. Would tom rather have the land be larger and then not have room for the donkey Kong ride? Would tom rather they have done none of the power up attractions so people wouldn't block pathways or have no meet and greets? Surely Tom has been to Disneyland cali where rides are stacked on top of each other and there are often bottlenecks? I like tom because he can be critical of Disney when needed but he is always more critical of universal when filming universal content because of his inherent bias as a Disney fan first.

There is no bias, they have empty land next to it in Epic Universe. There’s no reason to build this the bad way again. Good design is good design. If you don’t have room to do it right, then don’t.
