What’s the plan for the fenders? Where you lowered it and cut the fenders the tires aren’t covered anymore, are you going to correct that in the model before making the mold or are you going to have a separate piece that goes on the fenders?

Its not the scanner, its the users. I work in a college machine shop and the new users seems to create very blobby shapes and it seems to get much better with a little practice. Thanks for the concern though, wonderful customer support. It is the Thayer School machine shop.

Rob how much did it cost to 3D scan the RX7? I own an RX7 and I do my own carbon fiber parts by replicating parts into fiberglass molds or create a brand new part from scratch. Needless to say it’s extremely time consuming...this would definitely help my quest to build one of the best FD’s. The info will be greatly appreciated. 🤙🏽

Personally i'd get rid of the spoiler and make the gas cap flush with the fender. Those make it look more like just a tuner car than an over the top clean build to me. But hey, not my car or money!

Creaform makes a variety of units. We chose this one because it’s more affordable than the unit that can get it done in 5 minutes. This one is often bought by engineering firms and schools. I will be showing off a 6k unit next to scan the engine bay etc

I don't think I had the chance to work on 3D scans built using Creaform scanners but I was wondering if you compared the dimensions of the car and the 3d data ? I have had quite bad experiences working on 3d scans made with small hand held unit (stretched and twisted meshes) . Good to see this type of technology used on project like yours !
