Much respect to apex' manufacturing skills! But rather mouting the steering rack to the periphery of the engine, I would have welded a seperate bracket on to the chassis, guiding the rack. Less movement in steering, more durable. Doesn't take much time to rattle this connection into pieces, no matter wich material. Greetings from Germany! Keep it up, glad to see any entertaining rotormodifications on this level!

I mentioned the same exact thing in the last upload he did when building it. He said he would be able to dyno the engine before putting it in the chassis, but not without a better cross braced stand that could take all that torque he won't....

The steering shaft needs similar in and out working angles. The u joints will bind if ones like 10 degrees and the other is 40. If you can get them near equal it'll alleviate the tight loose tight loose feeling you're getting look up steering shaft angles and drive shaft joint working angles... it'll save breaking the joints when you add hydraulic assist

That steering shaft is super sketchy. Maybe you could mount an angled gearbox at the rack and run the shaft straight to it. Don't mount it to the engine. A collapsible shaft would be safer, if you don't want to get it through the chest in a collision.

Its coming along! Im no engineer but I have a couple thoughts. I was wondering if you could tilt the steering rack back at all to achieve a better input angle. Redoing the mounts for the rack would be a pain but possibly worth it. I think that heim joint support is a good idea for the space but It may send more engine vibrations throught to the steering wheel which may fatigue your hands on long drives. Even though the engine will be hard mounted it may reduce the vibrations by mounting the support to the chassis, if there is even room. It may also make it so you have to remove the steering shaft to service components. Let me know what you think.

Seperate the U-joints further apart to reduce the sharp angle, I’m thinking by having a small shaft in between may help with the knot in the steering if your next option doesn’t help? I would say put the first u joint as close to the support knuckle that you’s made out of composite and then have the shaft in the middle running on an angle to the front left of the chassis, I also think by making the steering shaft a little shorter may help reduce the angle?

Use a shorter/shortened shaft to move the top U/J close to the rod end/shaft support - this will have two benefits from the better joint geometry, ligher and more consistent steering and reduced stress on the components. Don't forget to 'phase' the joints as you would a driveshaft to reduce the variations in output speed and torque - hooke joints are NOT CVs. As I mentioned in a previous video's comments - I would SERIOUSLY look at rotating the steering rack to impove the pinion angle, if possible.
