Applying the sports prognosticating mentality to DCI seems antithetical to the nature of the activity. It's art after all. Not football. You can't argue with the subjective nature of art. The level of excellence in DCI has progressed exponentially since 1972. Yet the number of active corps has dwindled. Fielding a competitive top 12 corps currently an expensive and complex challenge.
