Oh NOOOO- I was screaming! Those thick base glasses are Midcentury modern bullet tumblers- they’re like 70 for two! And the dachshund planter sold for $54 on eBay- it’s also Midcentury modern. And cast iron is so easy to rehab you often don’t need to even do it yourself- buyers like doing it themselves as there are all different oils you can do it with- some swear by olive oil, others by safflower… get that cast iron next time!!

You get that Lodge if it's still there... if it's really bad, you can put it in the oven while it self cleans. They will always come clean... specially look at garage sells, some old ones are worth hundreds. I started learning about them while I was learning to care for ours that have been in my family for 5 generations.

I'm finding that Ebays' suggested price is ruining the market. Their suggested prices are so low, and people are listing items based on those suggestions. I received an offer on an item that I had listed for 35.00, a buyer contacted me and said Ebays suggested price is between 10 to 15 but I don't want to offend you so I'll offer 30.00 🤣🤣

It is hard thrifting and not going crazy buying things you "think" will sell. I'm new and that's my biggest problem so at least you are checking things out and making good decisions. I went to an estate sale the other day and got so much stuff but was too chicken to do research while I was there. Lol. Hopefully with time I will become a pro like you. I love your thrift with me videos.

Any cast iron is a wise choice. Lasts forever. Bit of time to get it back to "seasoned" shape, but relatively easy process

All your videos are good. But I really liked this one. I guess because all of us go through this and you showed us that even people like you can make mistakes to. It’s a teaching video also. Because you show us the good stuff as well 😊

There’s so much glass wear in central Texas and there’s a lot of hand blown stuff from Mexico that’s beautiful but currently made so it doesn’t sell… I’m horrible about glass stuff too… I need to educate myself. Don’t beat yourself up…. There’s always plenty of flips

Margaret, I think these oops you put back are just as valuable as the great finds. We all learn the good and the eh, not so good. The only thing I saw that you looked over, were the footed cut glassware. I know there were 16 but don’t know if there were any solds. However, if possible and the comps were there I would’ve made 4 sets of 4 and sold them like that for max profit. Also, look up how to clean cast iron. It’s definitely doable and check comps. Some pieces go high, some not so much. Overall, those are very expensive to purchase new. It looks like some of your goodwill shops are outrageously expensive. Great video, great info. Thank you ❤

Clear glass can be tricky! I like to use Google image to find out more about certain items. I think those taller glasses you were looking at were Polish, perhaps? I love buying glasses but hate shipping them!

I wouldnt feel bad about leaving the stuff behind, i did not see anything all that special. And you know that the best and quickest sales are hard to find items or unusual uncommon items.

I am so guilty of walking away from an item my gut is telling me to pick up and looking it up later after getting home. It sucks to find out you left money on the table. I have come to delete those photos and NOT torture myself. 🙃 lol You have greatly helped my purchasing ability and I am forever grateful. Many thanks and blessings, K.T.

I still regret not picking-up a Lodge pot with lid pretty much like the one you passed on. It was in good shape but they wanted $20 so I left it. I should’ve bought it for my own use. I really like cast iron. Oh well. But no shame, Margaret. I think you’re just really trying not to overbuy (which I have historically done and I’m really trying to be more thoughtful).

Hi Margaret! I can so relate to this video. I find myself buying too much and regretting it when I get home, or I don't buy enough and regret it. LOL Yesterday I bought several things that will sell, but when I went to list them I felt like I had paid too much. Thanks for the video, I enjoy seeing what you pass up. It makes me feel better about the things I pass up. :)

I learn so much from you from both what you buy and don’t buy. I’ve had those days too where you just do t know if it’s worth keeping something for awhile while you wait for an average to sub average profit; so you put it back and change your mi d later! You’re only human so don’t worry too much about it! 😂❤

I was out sourcing today and thought I'd be picking up some neat clothing, but as soon as I hit the jeans section I got overwhelmed and felt so lost. Did look some items up, but everything ended back on the rack. Still don't know if I left some good stuff behind.

Hello Margaret I am been following for long time and you have said If I was at Yard Sale I could get it. Well that's sometimes true because if you find the exact same thing that is .25 is it just me but If I am at a thrift store see something with a profit I would pick it up even if it's not .25. If I am there I would buy it

It looks like you were picking up mostly small, easy to ship items this trip. It's ok not to buy everything. It's ok to give yourself permission to not buy something because it just did not inspire you or was too much of a hassle to deal with. The big bear is cute, but I wouldn't want to fit that in my car or a box to mail. The glasses were pretty, but they were so fragile. Even if those weren't your reasons, there's no right or wrong reason to buy something. This is your business and your channel. You get to decide what that looks like.

*To a Mouse, on Turning Her Up in Her Nest With the Plough, November, 1785* By Robert Burns Wee, sleeket, cowran, tim’rous beastie, O, what a panic’s in thy breastie! Thou need na start awa sae hasty, Wi’ bickerin brattle! I wad be laith to rin an’ chase thee Wi’ murd’ring pattle! I’m truly sorry Man’s dominion Has broken Nature’s social union, An’ justifies that ill opinion, Which makes thee startle, At me, thy poor, earth-born companion, An’ fellow-mortal! I doubt na, whyles, but thou may thieve; What then? poor beastie, thou maun live! A daimen-icker in a thrave ’S a sma’ request: I’ll get a blessin wi’ the lave, An’ never miss ’t! Thy wee-bit housie, too, in ruin! It’s silly wa’s the win’s are strewin! An’ naething, now, to big a new ane, O’ foggage green! An’ bleak December’s winds ensuin, Baith snell an’ keen! Thou saw the fields laid bare an’ waste, An’ weary Winter comin fast, An’ cozie here, beneath the blast, Thou thought to dwell, Till crash! the cruel coulter past Out thro’ thy cell. That wee-bit heap o’ leaves an’ stibble Has cost thee monie a weary nibble! Now thou’s turn’d out, for a’ thy trouble, But house or hald, To thole the Winter’s sleety dribble, An’ cranreuch cauld! But Mousie, thou art no thy-lane, In proving foresight may be vain: *The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men* *Gang aft agley,* *An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,* For promis’d joy! Still, thou art blest, compar’d wi’ me! The present only toucheth thee: But Och! I backward cast my e’e, On prospects drear! An’ forward tho’ I canna see, I guess an’ fear!
