This about my favorite video ever. It has a close personal analogy. I worked hard and was good at it all my life; I would liken myself to a D9 Cat. Now, just turned 50 years old and I am permanently disabled from a lifetime of hard work in construction, cabinet shops and shipyards. I feel like that old D8 you rescued. I can still start and tick over, but my working days are over. It’s heartwarming to see someone care enough about the broken old workhorse to pull it out of the dirt and give it a good home. I empathize with that old ‘dozer. Rock On Brothers!!!!

HeavyD, so glad i discovered this series, to me the is the best of America, big skies, great scenery, a 'can do' approach, a respect for machinery and great camaraderie. Add to that a pride in your country, but a great realism about the world. Keep it up!

Hay Heavy D, You should think about working up a Skid Plate of Steel or Dimond Plate 10 or 12 feet wide and long enough to role or slide a Tractor or other Machinery up onto, with a Cable or Chain unit to pull this Steel Skid Unit down a Dirt road with caring the Caterpillar on it. It would be much easier to pull a Caterpillar or any other unit that could tear up the Road. Take the Skid unit to the job sight and load the Item onto the Skid Plate, then no torn up Road to Repair, at least not as hard a job to Repair as we've seen. And you can also use Round Wood or Steel Rollers under the Skid Plate when you are going onto to Black Top or Cement, or a Trailer. I really enjoy your program, keep it up my friend. Just an old Retired Millwright's suggestion.

I love old dozers and I loved watching you bring this old girl off the mountain. When I was 8 years old a friend of my family leveled some fields for us on our farm in Vermont and he would take me with him on the dozer. When we were coming back from the fields he would let me drive. It was a tough thing for an 8 year old girl to do because the brakes were set for him and he was tall, but I managed. Our trail in the dirt road was not pretty but I didn't run it off the road and into the brook! Thank you.

I enjoy their episodes, but I do see a lot of added "showmanship" which indicates some are set-ups. E.g. Landing that helo on someone's land and digging willy-nilly for treasure. Finding some and keeping it. No permits? No agreements as to fees or percentages with the landowner? Worse if it's "government" land. I did enjoy watching it, though.

Just finished watching the Dozer Mountain Recovery. Great video ! I took it up again as you and your crew were in the diner. Shortly after, your hired hand was describing the plan to get it past the homestead there. His attitude was if it locks up, we’re done, just leaving it there for someone else to deal with it. I understand hands getting tired. But letting one voice it makes it unprofessional and makes for bad morale. Both of which are less than optimal. You’ll address it if you feel it’s a problem, judging from your attitude of getting the job DONE and finishing STRONG ! Yes, I am a subscriber, and I love the content of your videos. Doing the jobs that the chromed out, tricked out Rotator Wreckers couldn’t even GET TO much less do unless they gave up that chrome to some rock outcroppings. Or at least an oil pan ! That's some cool stuff. We had a D7C dozer years ago that came with the farm we bought and we had to bring it to life kinda like you guys did. It had the old pony motor and everything that we eventually got it swapped over to electric. It had the cable lift for the blade but we got it all adjusted and working good, dad cleared our whole place with it. Love the part about the gas station/diner, can't go wrong with the Duke!

Man oh man that chain snapping brings back some serious memories of not being able to walk on my right leg for two weeks and having hematoma the size of a basketball! Yes indeed. There were lots of 'workplace safety infractions" going on there. The leverage overloading the chains was WAY" beyond any safe loading. But they didn't care...and many here, think that's a great thing, really 'macho' until one gets laid up, big time $$ in the hospital.. broken bones, lacerated face, whatever!
