I think the main question is no matter who finds the One Piece first, can they do something with it/about it. Hell Roger was at Laugh Tale but it wasn't the right time, so that lore question still remains up in the air. We still do not know what was stopping Roger at that time, was it the right person, timing, key, conditions etc. We probably won't know until nearing the very end of the last saga
