Love it! We’re thinking hard about downsizing to a Casita. Full timers over here too! Right now we’re in a 29’ because it was what we could afford to get on the road. So after 3 yrs it’s time to search for the next home on wheels! Stay safe!

A REALLY good way to increase space if you are planing on living long term in the trailer is to get a PU as a tow vehicle and put a shell on the back of it. Less often needed items go in the back of the PU. You then put a solar system on the trailer and the PU and collect electricity from panels on both roofs so you can boon dock easier.

Thanks for the tips! We right now have a 4runner which we use for storage but think we might need a pickup at some point. We love our 4runner but the towing gets tough on its 200k mile engine.

Hi there! Sorry we missed your message. We haven't been as active on KZbin lately as we are on Instagram now (videos take so long to edit!). Anyway, we got the towel rack at IKEA. It has suction cups and it has actually held up quite well over the last year. It's fallen off only a couple of times and when you consider that we put our house through an earthquake every time we're on the road, it's really not bad at all!

I love your minimalistic setup. We are thinking of downsizing to a Casita for full time living. Do you find it’s enough space? Do you have everything you own with you or do you have a storage unit? Right now we have everything we own with us but we are in a Class C.

Thank you for this video! It was super helpful! Question? My husband is 6ft, how tall is the shower?
@aventuraroad3 жыл бұрын
I (Noah) am 6'2". I have to crouch in the shower. That being said, i just rarely use it. If we are at a campground, i use the facilities there. If we are boondocking, we find a shower in town (gyms, laundromats, etc.)
@sharong85112 жыл бұрын
@J A C K I E G E N T R Y My comment might be too late to be pertinent but I saw another Casita Spirit Deluxe video yesterday and the woman said that she was 5’7” and her head was quite close to the shower ceiling. I believe she had a teak bath mat type thingy to stand on so without that you will probably gain two inches of standing height in shower. Her husband was over six feet and he also used the showers in the campgrounds they stayed at. In a pinch a tall person could sit on top of the commode and soap up and wash hair, then stand crouched to rinse? I know it doesn’t sound very comfortable! I do love these trailers and would order one in a heartbeat. However, I live in Canada and our dollar is far below the value of the US dollar. I would end up paying about another third of the price. Heavy sigh…

I currently live in a 4000 Sf home, 5 bedrooms- it’s just me and my dog Can’t seem to figure out how to downsize to a Casita ? Advise please ?
@kpinkbug2 жыл бұрын
Congrats on wanting to make this big of a change. Wow, that's a big overhaul to downsize from 4,000 sf. But it's absolutely possible! I suppose my main question for you would be - why do you want to downsize? Without a strong "why" for wanting to make such a big change, no advice will stick. That inner drive and motivation is so important! For us, our "why" was to lead a life based on experiences, not things. For you, that "why" might look different (money saving, less worry, etc.). Once you connect with that "why", then I'd suggest creating a plan for downsizing with an end date. Knowing there's a countdown is incredibly motivating to get things done. Hope that helps!

We store them under one of our dinette seats. We recently bought a very compact camping set which is non-stick and very light weight. We love it.

Is there storage under the bed? I know there is in the center where your legs go when it's set up as a dinette but is there storage under the seats?

A small amount on either side. Most of it is taken up by our fresh water tank, hot water heater, and inverter.
