Welcome to my hometown, Kaohsiung. Gogoro is for electric scooter and the one you were trying to pull out was the battery. Hope you enjoyed your visit in Taiwan.

@@DanandLyn Yep, it's like swap and go, so you don't have to wait for it to charge up. BTW good guess from Lyn, she got it correct about the motorcycle.👏

As someone who was born and raised here i do have some notes i would like to add. 1. Kaoshiung was the second biggest city in Taiwan until like a few years ago, got surpassed by Taichung population wise, and was the leading city of mega sky scraper war back in the 90s (which mean all of the tallest buildings was first build in Kaohsiung, and then Taipei), so it's big by nature. 2.The city itself is relatively new compare to most of the cities in the world, it wasn't even on the map like 150 years ago (well actually it was but only a small fishing village back then), then Japanese think that the lagoon had potential of replacing the dying Tainan harbor so they started building it as one of their biggest harbor and also an industry/financial/war machine, plan out the city with highest standards, then ROC government kept following the same route, hence become the modern and wide road/sidewalk you see here. 3. those glittering on the sidewalk is purposely made that way to add a bit of visibility at night, but i do think it's a bit annoying sometimes. 4.Gogoro network is for those Gogoro electric scooters you probably already seen on the street, it's basically a battery quick swap station, just pull out the empty battery packs in the scooter and swap for freshly charged new ones on the station, no need to wait for charging anymore. I don't own a scooter (which is odd for a Taiwanese tho just that i'm a MTB guy so prefer to just ride bikes everywhere) so I have no idea how much the system costs but it was like 20$ USD monthly fee as far as i remember. 5.Kaohsiung is super underrated as a touring destination compared to the rest of Taiwan, but also due to that underrated-ness most of the shops are just under prepared for anyone who's non Chinese speaking or reading, but time will fix this i guess. Hope you really enjoy your time here. I love Kaohsiung and have been proud of being a Kaohsiungese for my entire life even during the time when i wasn't living here so I really hope you like it too.

Kaohsiung is more prosperous and progressive than Taipei TSMC will build five advanced nano-process plants Many foreigners prefer Kaohsiung’s harbor and metropolitan scenery compared to the Taipei Basin
