Sweet! Great to see you solved your engine issues! My plans to go the last couple times did not come together, but I got it don't this afternoon! I found a hump out in deeper water that should Hybrids but it's a nest of catfish. I spot locked the spot for three hours with steady action. I only kept 12 cats, from fat 16"ers up to toad 18"ers. The ones I kept were some of the thickest cats I've seen. I bailed on the cats because it was getting close to 3pm. Yes, I've been a 3pm bite guy for years!😂 Checked a few spots for Hybrids and finally found some that would hit a trolled spoon, so I spot locked the school. For a solid hour I had nonstop action on Hybrids. Lost 4 keepers (over 18") just before I tried to dip them with the net! Got 3 that were well over the 18" minimum for Texas. I caugth 27 (caught, in hand, then released) Hybrids. Best bite was the muscles we normally use. Today they were not too fond of shrimp. This was the shrimps 2 fishing trip so that might have been the issue! In a way I'm glad our Hybrids will hit dead bait like they do. I'm not sure what would happen with live shad. Anyway, glad you guys got out on the water!

Well we are about smack right in the middle of the season for the 3 o’clock biter folks. lol. Sounds like an awesome trip! I reckon the fish just learn and adapt to the areas they grow up in. I’m just glad it’s about to be deadstick and put up the net and tank!

@@BooneBoys I was thinking the same thing yesterday about dead sticking season is just around the corner. I seen a flight (not sure if you would call it flock) of Red Breasted Robin's this week. So colder weather can't be too far away. The muscle thing works in a lot of places. I seen UTube videos of guys on Lake Somerville here in Texas and a guy in a more mountainous area using them. That's the guy I got the idea from.

Glad to see yall back in the water👌. Theirs nothing worse than motor problems on the water and when the bite is on, Thanks to Dad, He got that motor going with the oil trick. Yall did pretty good on those Wipers especially John Berrys Wiper❤. Can't wait to see the next one soon.

@Freshwater-SouL good thing we had my dad. I’m not much of a mechanic. I would have been still no waking around the lake. Lol.

Man that look on JB's face makes it all worth it. Good going! Can't wait for my boys to be old enough to start taking out in the next year or two. Like I told you the other day, bite has definitely turned on. Was out on Sooner the other day, water temp right at 70 and we were using jigging/flutter spoons and the white bass & white perch were going berserk from daylight until about 1030AM. Speaking of, my boat is completely torn apart at the moment. Replacing all the carpet with a spray in liner. Also my old trolling batteries are on their last leg and I'm finally making the jump to lithium batteries. Found a steep discount on some that are not only submersible but also heated and shock resistant. If you're curious can send you the details if you wanna look into it.

Can’t wait to try out Sooner Lake. Man you lucky dog getting Lithium batteries! The amount of weight we would save by having 5 lithiums on our rig ….wow. Can’t wait to see the spray in liner.

Thanks again for your help getting us on some fish! We wound up going back the next day and getting into em. Prior to I’d only ever caught one hybrid. I’ve learned a lot watching your channel, definitely going back out soon to do it again, with a slasher this time 😁 Check out the areas I sent you for smaller shad, I’d have loved to catch bigger ones for jug lines but couldn’t get any over the 2.5-3.5” range.

You’re very welcome. Glad you got on some. In another week I think they will start schooling up more and eating heavy for winter. Maybe see you guys out there again soon!

Can you elaborate on what area(s) of the lake your targeting in the fall? (Dam? River? Mid-lake? Points?) Thanks!
@BooneBoys
@BooneBoys Жыл бұрын
@alansavis4885 I usually fish flats and shallows in the fall. Every lake is different, but I usually find them in 10-14’ or shallower. The baitfish don’t leave the shallows until water temp leaves the 60’s and 70’s. Not knowing a lake I would look for shallow flats. Try and find an area where the bank drops off to 3-6’ or so fast then fairly quickly (50-75yds) goes to 10-14’. We rarely fish right on drop offs. It’s below them and above them all over flats. Biggest mistake I’ve done and see others do often is going too deep too soon.

Is the dam a good place to start at Cobb?

Right now it is. Look at my old videos from last fall and reference the signs on the dam. NE side.
