I was born and raised in Bedford. The best thing I got out of Bedford is "I got out!". My gut still churns when I go there and only when I have to.

I'm from the Cincinnati area but have lived in Lawrence Co. for 17yrs. Great video of bedford, IN & it def has improved over the yrs. That's awesome. This video is another reason why i'm thinking about moving to bedford. have my kids grad from BNL instead of Mitchell. The schools & town are failing my kids I feel.

This video is great and it makes me proud to live in Bedford. Jackpot ~ You get from any town what you are willing to put into it. Sounds like to me your problems are not with Bedford.

I am a transplant to Lawrence County and Bedford. Let me just say, compared to where I came from, Bedford is Great!! You all don't realize how much you have! You get out of a community what you put into it. So why not show a little pride, and do your part? :) Go Stars!

Simple equation. Work hard and get educated and Bedford is a fine place. Sit on your butt and I'm sure it's a dark place with no opportunity. I'm with Lauren. You get what you put in, anything else is a lazy excuse. If you're in the "dark side" of anything or any town, bust your butt, work hard and get ahead! I've been here my whole life, not from a rich family, and I'm doing well for myself because I'm working hard. My zip code is 47421. Always has been.

I think this video is awesome! and for the ones "mouthing Bedford" you get out of life what you put into it! and as far as the guy saying " we help each other"- or how ever he worded it. that statement for Me couldn't be any truer. In a time of need I never have to look far for "many" to be willing to lend a helping hand. Bedford is a great community. I was born & raised here and have no desire to move elsewhere. I can only assume the ones calling this tastfully done video ( Kudos Andie Redwine) BS are A. not even risdents here B. If you were or are what do you do to make the community a better place? other than spew your negativity-which goes back to what I originally said; You get out of Life what you put into it. I love my town, friends & Neighbors!

You mean like crooked cops and crooked public officials. Not to mention all of the public corruption that goes on Bedford and Lawrence County. Add in the fact that they've turned it into a bedroom community of Bloomington. While Bedford has economically declined over the past 20 to 25 years with plants closing and very few new businesses coming into the community. All the while drugs such as Meth and Heroin are wracking the streets of Lawrence County and its getting worse.

Bedford has it's up and downs, its ins and outs, but that's all part of life. This Video was made to help Bedford not to hurt it, for Christ sake take the stick out of your butt and just leave it be.

If you are an investor looking at the city of Bedford, I would suggest you look elsewhere. This is the Bedford of 20 years ago, certainly not the Bedford of 2013-2014. Bedford has gone from a lower-middle class town to a lower class. high poverty community almost completely dependent on food stamps, welfare, and other government services. Its biggest primary exports are no longer limestone, but rather its most talented young people and its methamphetamine. People once had jobs for 20-30 years in manufacturing on assembly lines, however over the past 15 years, all those jobs have gone. It is a case study in the decline of American industrial might. For the most part, people do not have the job skills for in-demand unskilled or skilled labor jobs. Bedford is a town in which opportunity has long since passed it by thanks to incompetent governance at the local and state levels. The "Bedford Dream" is to receive an education good enough so that you never return. Talent does not stay here, it sprints away and I would recommend that you look to other areas to invest in that actually invests in itself such as Bloomington, Seymour, or Columbus. Bedford is on the cusp of a socioeconomic collapse, unable to cope with a changing world while it prides itself as the "Limestone Capital of the World."

Sir, you are correct and I am old enough to remember back in the 1970s and 80s when Bedford was a much better community than it is now.
