I learned this week that the "lowest debt to GDP" is ONLY true if they put assets like CPP AS collateral. If you take those the debt to GDP without that adjustment they are near the highest debt to GDP

Retired from King & Bay after 30 years - the level of incompetence by this Liberal government is mind blowing. Canadians need to comprehend that the debt interest is more than health care spending, and getting worse. If this is not halted social programs will be in danger - permanently. Economic growth has reversed since 2015. Productivity has cratered. Employment and wages will go down. The cost of living will go up. There is no doubt. Voting to support these policies will hurt current and future generations of Canadians, for decades.

Not voting is a choice. Make an informed choice and realize that there is no such thing as free government programs. Collectively, we, the taxpayers, will ultimately absorb the cost, whether in personal and estate taxes or in reduced social programs in the future.

My personal impression from the conference is: there were more agencies and infrastructure projects for the startups than actual startups and investors. The last word that describes this government is responsible. Let’s take inflation for since. Yes it may be below 3% now, but it has been well above that for the last several years. Inflation is compounding. Which means over the last four years compounding inflation is near 30%, the economic output of Canada has not increased by 30%. There is too much money in the system.

Continue challenging these politicians Vassy. The mismanagement of Canada and its finances are legendary. Analogy=After gorging on chips and pop and blowing up to 200 kgs from 100 kgs, the government has decided to cut back to try get back to 180 kgs. Still not healthy, but better. Maybe one day, PM Trudeau will take an interest in government finances.
