Funny, I started going through my inventory doing the same thing Christmas night. I take a picture of each level in a bin and then I can sit at my computer to fix sku or something. It actually helps your ebay store because you are removing low end or unwatched/viewed items.

It amazes me what I have in totes that were, WERE listed on eBay and then when I do inventory all of a sudden they are NOT listed. Those are items that often sell quickly when relisted too so it pays to go through old stock and make sure it's listed.

Don't be surprised if some of those items aren't even listed on ebay anymore...Ebay tends to take down listings for no reason and no notice. I found at least 20 of my items they did this to so far

Btw, those inkjet cartridges you're holding onto, do have a shelf life before they just dry up in the box. Not worth keeping unless it's fairly new. Generally only last 18-24 months before they dry up on their own.

I closed my Poshmark and Ebay stores (Dec 15-22) and did the same thing as well as consolidate all of my Christmas stuff that was left in less bins. When I opened both stores back up sales started and never noticed a difference. I deleted about 200 listings. Good luck!

If I wrap something in paper, plastic, or in a ziplock bag, I always write what it is on it. You could write the name on a piece of painter’s tape and stick it on. That Vera Bradley “shower cap” becomes you. 😂 My New Year’s resolution is to make a station for “e-Boo” listing and shipping, as I’m currently doing both on my washing machine, and THAT IS VERY SHABBY. I actually bought a work table for that purpose earlier this year that’s still in the box in the garage. I also need to sort through all my listings and get rid of all the long tailed items that are under $10 and not worth selling via a garage sale, donation, or just trash. I also have a huge death pile that needs to be addressed.

Whenever I go through and purge a bunch of items out of my Ebay store, I always seem to get a little boost in sales. I think the Ebay algorithm likes it when you remove old items out of your store.

It will be a ton of work but you will be glad you did it so you can start fresh in 2025. I don’t have a lot listed, but I plan to do the same thing, plus go through all of my totes of thrifted, unlisted items to see if they’re even worth listing. I don’t do whatnot and it’s winter here so no rummage sales to sell at until probably May, so I will just donate what I don’t plan to keep. You guys are inspiring-keep up the good work!

FYI, Custom Ink will let you do different art in one order for custom merchandise. So, for instance, you could order 50 T-Shirts, have 5 different designs, and they don't upcharge for that. You can provide you're own art, they give you a good preview of what it will look like before you order.

I put stuff on Vinted and Ebay and sometimes do carboot sales(UK type of yard sale) and remove items often from each quite often. My shop is not as big as yours though. I wouldn't say it has big impact on my shop. I think as long as you keep adding stuff and are active it should be all right. I haven't used Whatnot as is not working on my phone, I guess I have an older model but still works so I'm not going to change it just for that. Every now and then I either lower price on stuff that I have for ages or take them to carboots to have at least small profit on them. Very rarely, but also donate if I know that charity shops will definitely use the stuff- we have a big problem with some of them throwing stuff straight to waste bins,

Very fun video. About your crazy looking little guy who won't sell: have you ever tried this? Way back when I used to sell dolls and toys, sometimes if I had something that just wouldn't sell, I would raise the price and sometimes that would do it. I think if it's too good of a deal, people look at it like it's junk. Just a thought. Put $28 on him and see what happens. I think he's adorable.
