John was a world-class creative spirit and one of the all-time worst businessmen ever. If he had a choice between three good options, A, B, or C, and two bad options, D and E, he would go all the way down to G or H to make his choice. 😁

I always think of my dad when I hear CCR. They were one of his favorite groups and I grew up listening to them, Neil Diamond, and Three Dog Night, just to name a few classic artists. My dad even made me a CCR mix tape when I went to college. I lost him in 2019 but listening to CCR and the other music he introduced me to makes me feel like he's still here.

CCR is the ultimate feel-good music. It never gets old. Their top hits are legendary, but their deeper cuts are just as good, or even better. Try reacting to some of those deeper cuts that don't get many reactions, e.g. check out "Penthouse Pauper", "Gloomy", "Walk on the Water", "The Working Man", "Pagan Baby", "Ramble Tamble", "Bootleg (Alternate Take)", "Graveyard Train", "Before You Accuse Me" (they recorded two very different versions of this one, try them both--the second was on the 40th anniversary edition of their debut album, the first on Cosmo's Factory).

I have been listening to CCR since I was a baby. My dad was a heart felt fan. My father didn't seem to have a heart felt feely for much, so that is as extreme compliment! Music is one place that he and I actually could find some common ground and actually be social for a bit. I loved CCR back then and over the years have grown to understand and love their music even more. I have my own description of their style..........The most intense, edge of your seat, laid back, soulful, rock'n, bluesy sound you will ever hear. I am 52yrs and been listening to them for 52yrs. =) Much Love and Peace!

Originally done by the great Black Blues/soul singer from the 40s and 50s, "Howlin' Wolf." Same era as "Lead Belly," "Muddy Watters," and many other greats of that time. They were a Huge influence on the early pioneers of Rock n' Roll in the mid 1950s when Rock and Roll was Born.
