I love this version.. brings out my Irish ♥

Agreed. ...even though I am more Scottish than Irish! The only thing that could make it better is if they released a "B" track where they sing it in Gaelic or an Irish dialect of English.

I love it and appreciate all the instruments used. A welcome relief from the commercialization of the season.

That's an assertion. Now, back it up with some cold, hard facts, otherwise. I'm not going to take you seriously!

The original lyrics are "pleased as man with men to dwell..." Why the change to "pleased with us in flesh to dwell?" This changes the entire meaning! Christ was pleased to come incarnate as a MAN to dwell with MANKIND. This is more than not offending women, you have taken what is glorifying to Christ and made the song man-centered as if God was pleased with US so he came in flesh.

I think the new wording COULD mean the same thing, but only because i see it through the eyes of the old wording. So maybe "pleased as flesh with us to dwell" could bridge the gap. I often prefer the original wording (and people should get educated about historic meaning of words!). But old wording can also be a barrier to some, especially non-belivers.

Or 'pleased as man with us to dwell'!!! There shouldn't be any dispute that Jesus was a man....literally.
