I feel like MOST influencers fall into a depressive state of mind, exactly because of what you said: they are living life according to what others want ( idealization), in the sense of, trying to appeal to the masses, but at the end of the day, alot of influencers just ask themselves "what am i doing here? What's my purpose? Will THIS be my career forever?" and that can get someone to feel useless... I once ideolized (?) influencers life, and fell into a slight sad phase ( i dont call it depression) because MY life wasnt as GLAMOROUS or ADVENTUROUS as theirs. That's when i took a break from social media, in a desperate try to re-discover myself... and i did so :) I learned that WE as VIEWRS only see what the content creators want us to see... it works like soap operas: fantasy living, distant from reality. I've learned to APPRECIATE what I HAVE and work towards MY GOALS in life, instead of living or comparing my life and choices to others... Right now, i am in a very much better place , and even though i'm going thru a rough patch family wise, i feel good about myself and my life :) Thank you for SAYING IT: KZbin IS NOT EVERYTHING! SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT EVERYTHING!!!!!

Aww I’ve been out of High school for 5 years and I just started college last month. I’m a mom of a toddler too- it’s never too late. I have to say that I feel a bit privileged because I don’t care about partying and everyone is typically so much younger than me and I can’t really relate to them. So I’m more focused. Plus i can’t wait to tell my son about going to school with his crazy toddler self. I think it’s inspiring especially for other women. I’m so glad you’re sharing your story and experience. Diii prms definitely! Some people aren’t ready, some don’t have money and some just don’t want to go. I took my time to work hard and get benefits with a company and now I have college paid for. You can go whenever you want and be 80 years old! I have a 65 year old in one of my classes

Girl im so excited for you!! Its never too late to go to college and get a degree. And everyone isnt always ready after graduating high school. I just graduated with my bachelors in psychology. It wasnt my first choice of a degree because i wanted to be a teacher but i'm still working on that process and i'm not going to give up. God has a plan for each and everyone of us and even if we might question it when we shouldnt the things we want will come when theyre suppose to. I am going to tell you though at least for me finding a job has been extremely hard for me. With my degree u need a masters or a doctoral degree. So everything ive tried needs more. And its been almost 6 months and my loans start next month. But i'm continuing to be optimistic. Long story short dont be discouraged dont give up. You got this. Keep your head up it will be hard at times but youll pull through. The long shot it worth it in the end. Good luck ❤️

I’ve been struggling with figuring out what I’m doing with my life. I’m a 3rd year in college and my anxiety is high because Idk what career I want. I plan on working for 2 years after I graduate, then go back to get my psychology degree. I’m also scared of failing with anything I do, so that also holds me back on trying or going out of my comfort zone. It’s comforting to know that I’m not the only one that’s been struggling with this. But things will get better for both of us, I believe it! ❤️

I went to college right out of high school and took a good bit of a break 😅 but by the will of God I will be starting back up in the spring. I remember years back KZbinrs were saying "college isn't everything" and I see an influx of kids not finishing high school because they want to be KZbinrs. i'm not even sure if you'll see this, since i'm two days 'late' lol but i'm gonna say it anyways: i feel you. i'm not a youtuber or anything, but i do have lots of moments where i'm just really clueless and stressed out about what i need to do in life. what i'm here for and what my 'footprint' will be, if that makes sense. i don't want to just 'exist' (even though that's okay too), it terrifies me to be honest. and i have lots of existential crises because of it--and i'm 'only' 18 years old. it's just that nowadays, society seems to force you to have your whole life planned out, when honestly, how the heck would you know what to do as a 16/18 years old? i definitely didn't. still don't. now i'm studying to become a nurse but i don't have that exciting feeling where i just know that this is what i want to do. i've always felt like i was divergent--as in Divergent the movie lmao--i just want everything all together and learn about all the things in the world, too hard to make one choice. anyways, besides my whole--unasked--rant, my point is that you're not alone. it's totally fine to go to college now. it's definitely not too late (i've been to classes when i was looking for the right college, in which there were people who were like 30 years old or so. and people do not find it weird at all, not that that's important, but yeah with social anxiety it feels like it is, so i understand). just go for it and i'm very excited to see what it'll bring you and what you're going to do. but do it at your own pace and don't take time too seriously... if that makes any sense lol. probably sounded more logical in my head than when writing down. ok i'll stop now but yeah. love you!
