So cool that you still have a butcher shop and a greengrocer. We have Kroger or Walmart -huge supermarkets. In summer I can buy local produce from Farmer's Markets or just roadside stands or go pick your own strawberries. That's about it.

I am suprised at your tip of buying from your local butcher. I find my butcher more expensive than the supermarket. (if any one should be supporting their local butcher it should be me, my son is a butcher).
@TheBonellFamily2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s really important to support local business 👍 We buy meat from both the grocery store and the butcher It all depends on their specials etc and where I’m shopping at the time

It’s fascinating to see the differences between groceries there and here in the U.S. I think I’m especially envious of your butcher shops. I’d never heard of rissoles before watching your videos. I’ve been looking up rissole recipes and plan to take a stab at making them this weekend. I just wish I could buy them ready-made from the butcher like you do!
@TheBonellFamily2 жыл бұрын
I hope your rissoles turn out well Enjoy them 👍

Sounds like a crumpet is kinda like an English muffin in New York
@TheBonellFamily2 жыл бұрын
They are different from muffins, similar size but a muffin is more bread like
@LisaofHopewell2 жыл бұрын
A crumpet isn't quite an English muffin! lol

Jen when you say for the kids what ages are they?? 6- 12, school age?? A great video as always!
@TheBonellFamily2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean what age bracket when I say “that’ll be a treat for the kids”? I’m normally talking about the ones still living at home/school age kids so age 8 up to 18 But then treats are good at any age so if the older kids are around we always share all the treats

Would it not be cheaper to buy a whole cow and a whole pig
@TheBonellFamily2 жыл бұрын
It depends on what your family eats If you eat all cuts of meat then yes it could work out cheaper to buy a half or full beast But if your family only eats some of the cuts then it’s better to just buy bulk of what you can use
