I work for a company that enforces workers compensation and I hear a lot of employers say” no one wants to work anymore “ and I really wanna say “ just say you want to pay them a Slave wage and move on”. To be honest I have a lot days where I don’t know if I can live like this for the rest of my existence.

The song sounds like it’s from another time, which should serve as a reminder that not much has changed since the plantation. It’s beautiful. It’s sad. It’s enraging. True art.

I just took an African drumming class a week ago. I just happened to walk by the place, heard the drums and my spirit was uplifted. Now it makes sense. ❤

Ever since I graduated college and entered my first corporate job, I have felt everything you mentioned. Back then people thought I was spoiled or crazy for feeling ‘bad’ at work. This way of working isn’t natural. Thank you for your validation, videos and music.

Shout out to DMV. I'm in that area too. But yes, I feel like a horrible wage slave and it is very miserable. I hate being "owned" by these jobs.

Yeeeeeeeeeees! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay, DMV!!! 🫂🥹💛🌻 And yes! It is SO miserable. These jobs don't csre anything about us and it shows. We gotta center and csre for ourselves. 🥹💐🫂

@@AleciaRenece Very true. I really wish there were more that we could do to win. I just don't understand how the consistent abuse and manipulation can continue.

Hey Alecia. Girl, this hits sooooooo true. I am literally taking a wealth and poverty class and just scratched the surface on the International Monetary Fund and World Bank and how this institution legit exploit and leverage labor and capital. Its is maddening. I am still looking to homestead and create a communal space to live and not be exploited by capitalism. I feel that every thing now is a distraction from the realities that exist and people are no longer blinded by the BS because we have literally been squeezed and people are pushing back on the status quo and demanding more, and 2020 proved that very clearly.

The PATRIARCHY knows/knew EXACTLY what he did/do.... its NOT by accident... he did this INTENTIONALLY!!! ... the PATRIARCHY is rejoicing at the making of this video, your struggles, etc. HE WON!!!🏆 Not trying to be funny, but women need to look at themselves since thats where HE CAME FROM!! I love & enjoy your channel... keep up the great great work .... choose to grow in USEFUL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS to sustain your female life FIRST ABOVE ALL!!! .... This was right on time. I never heard of the term “wage slave” until this video. That makes so much sense, it gives me chills. But, as you said, we have to get creative. We must. Our freedom depends on it. Your voice is resistance, Sis. I hear it all: the banned sounds, the ancestral cry, the haunting elevation. Sending you much light and ❤️.

Thank you for this. Pursuing one’s dreams is a process with a few significant stages or many small stages. We learn to fit into wage slavery bc schools, parents, etc. condition us from the time we are really young pre school to graduation. I’ve found dreams get relegated to daydreams. To use your call and response example, we need to call back our dreams for them to respond to us. Grow into that person who the dream came to be. That’s my 2 cents. Your energy and perspective are appreciated.

At my job they take an automatic 3% out of your check and into a 401 k retirement plan. You don't have a choice. You can increase the percentage after a certain time period or something like that.

And before retiring they take all the 401ks wow what a scam
@natashadickson48194 ай бұрын
Is that legal? Is there a law requiring people participate in a 401K now? If you want to opt out, ask HR.

I believe what's not talked about enough is layoffs or getting fired. More about the former, but when 40-60% of workers get laid off these days, and say it's after 4 months of work on 12-15$/hr, they're looking at walking away with 7k$ to 9.6k$. Even if paid 50$/hr, this is STILL not enough for a house (around 400k on average). And guess what? This is under working 9-5, so this standard is incredibly outdated and does not work when costs are this unrealistic
