Wow, the differences in climates is really hitting home this year. We've got corn tasseling and silking, beans knee high, and cotton coming on here in Alabama. Been through an aggravating mini drought and now back in multiple days of rain. All the best to you guys farming in those tough conditions, hope you bring it on home!

I like how you can explain what is going on as you are planting and running the controls Chet, makes it feel like we are right there. Good luck with all the fixing and replacing that is going to happen this summer, I hope the dealers have what it takes to put it all back together.
I have never heard of those turtle beans before. Something different it will be cool to who’s they do. I hope you get all of your crops in with no more problems
Erik, why not put a cover over the control box youre not currently using on the sprayer?

Chet Eric Broodie that was perfect guys are doing a great job Dougo and Randy you can be proud of the kids there doing one he'll of a job they are getting the job done as far as they can go it's fantasticto see them all pulling there weight no complaints it's just go go go you all are amazing.
Thanks for another great video. Was interesting and enjoyable as always. You all are going a great job of switching seeds in your planter when going from black beans and back to soybeans and back again. I can understand that is a lot of work but necessary work. Wow. Extra work for all of you due to the wet fields this year. Hang in there. Switching back and forth has got to be frustrating. Hey Eric. How about covering up the box in the cab that does not relate to the sprayer you are using. Might help pushing the wrong buttons in error. Just a suggestion. Just saying. You all take care and be safe. You have a super team to work with. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything all. The Iowa farm boy.

Good to see you. in the field Chet!! Great video!! Take care!!
I used to get a bean called "October beans" in the Southeast USA. It was off white with purple veins and had the best natural flavour for beans I've ever had. I ran into October beans in China but I can't pronounce their name for it. The Thai markets near me will very rarely stock them but after 45+ years of gardening, I haven't experienced a better tasting beans.
Chat watch black beans used for or I will be planted soybeans corn weed oats and a variety of hay I don't think we ever plan a black beans in this area thank you for the information God bless you all and wish you the best for the Harvest
can't wait for the next video to see if you get stuck or not we need one video of Dougo and Randy working between the two of them it would funny as hell plus a little bit of wisdom also thanks Chet
Hey Chet could you throw in some short day silage corn to sell to a big dairy in your area that's gonna be short feed or work out a contract with them? If you can't get them planted for yourself
@colorado10882 жыл бұрын
Makes sense ... maybe to plant some corn in the really wet fields as they dry and then harvest it as silage before it turns brown before harvesting the other corn. But maybe cutting corn for silage requires special equipment/know how. Seems like the dairy could hook them up to someone that would work with them.
Farmers are the backbone of this country and deserve much more credit than they get. Mu hat is off to the men and women who keep us fed and toil so hard to do it.
How are you handling the fertilizer price doubling? Cost of seed increase? Are planting a lot less acreage. I know you missed the time slot for corn planting,
@tommacmud19522 жыл бұрын
Are you buying a puller for the black beans or cut then with the draper head?
Please tell me I’m not the only one that saw the big sweed listening to party for two by Shania Twain 😂😂 good song not gonna lie but just had to point it out haha
Your dad as. But would luv to know how your are doing given that it was just over a year ago that she passed . So sorry for your loss . But I think people would like to know how you are doing ?
They are usually sold before they are planted. There was a big shortfall of them last year so they are paying good now.

@@beckyumphrey2626 thanks ! I'm sure not every grain facility is equipped to handle human consumption beans so how far do they have to to truck them ?? Do the trailers have to be sterilized also ??

@@mikemontgomery7337 I am not sure. I did alot of googling on the subject. Pretty interesting stuff.
What’s your reason for planting black beans? To replace corn acres?
@kurt35432 жыл бұрын
I would guess they couldn’t get corn in the ground in time to still harvest this fall

The gamble of increased profit. It will either be spectacular or a failure. All depends on the weather.
@lynwessel24712 жыл бұрын
Chet said they signed up to plant them back when the soybean price wasnt good hoping black beans would be more profitable. Meanwhile the soybean price went way up, so they'll find out if it was a good decision.

Denault. Only a large percentage of Def comes from Russia. We're still getting it in Idaho but it has gotten terribly expensive.

Sonalan is the same class of herbicide as Prowl, but it isn't Prowl. It was originally labeled for peanuts. If you were using Prowl you wouldn't need to rush so much, it doesn't break down in the sun.

This chemical technology is amazing...like the TV program AG Phd where they talk for an hour straight about chemicals...I hope all this stuff is safe in the long run.
