I performed as Mary mother of Jesus in a play at our church back in 2003. We performed this play on Good Friday weekend. This song played after Jesus said " It is finished" , then he dies. There were tears throughout the whole church and the move of God was so amazing! We saw deliverance, salvation and healing! What a mighty God we serve! This song never ever fails to bring me to tears ever since I first heard this during our church service. The first time I heard this during worship, I just felt my tears fall. I didn't care if my neighbors saw me, I cried my heart out. Ever since then, this has been my go to song whenever thoughts of suicide go through my mind. Yes, I am a Christian, however, I am suicidal and maybe that's on me. I didn't guard my heart enough, I didn't hold my thoughts captive that's why I became like this. Until now, this song brings me to tears because I am constantly reminded that I have a purpose, I have a reason....a reason to live. I am reminded that God has a plan for me, to prosper me and not to harm me. He has plans to give me a hope and a future and that's why everyone who knows what I'm going through tells me that I keep on fighting and they are proud of me for doing that. I still may be suicidal at times, but I'm holding on to this particular reason, I have a purpose here. I am here because He wants me to be here. Besides, what right do I have to take my own life right? 🙂
