Hahahaha. That Mercedes reminds me of the time I had to drive a Y-reg LDV Convoy 17-seater minibus from Newark to Doncaster and back again. It belonged to a school and had done about 30,000 miles in 15 years, and it still had the original tyres on it, which appeared to be shaped like hexagonal Pringles and made of mahogany. It still makes me laugh to this day.

Brings back memories of my dads 207d panel van,CVF602Y,was only 12mths old when he had it.I will never forget when the gear lever came off in his hand at a roundabout.he was getting peeped at so waved the gear lever threw the window😂.it suffered from a wonky indicator stalk to.oh the memories.good days.

I remember getting my last W123 estate from a chap in Child Okeford, who lived almost next door to the "auction house" as seen in OFAH "A touch of glass" episode, the yellow Cortina in that episode did belong to the tyre chap here in Gill just off New Road behind Colin Heckfords. Merc owner and me had a good ol' chinwag about what it was really like living in south London and after mentioning more than one "wheeze" we used to get up to in the smoke had a good giggle :D Quite amusing too, a mate who lost me address and number just drove down from Deptford, went to Asda's and asked people if they knew where the nutter in the 3 wheel van lived and he soon got me addy :P

I once came back from Northampton to Lichfield with a bulge in my tyre dojng 100 mph in my escort mk5 diesel , I had been wondering what was wrong for two days , of corse when you inspect the tyres and the bulge is tarmac side down it's hard to detect 😂, I was very lucky it didn't blow out . Is was a 1.8d non turbot so maybe not quite 100 mph . This yellow treasure is truly special Al the tetris sears do it for me lol. Germans do lots of good things really well 90s upholstery wasn't always one of them . Big respect for buying this yellow treasure . Al have you ever come by a merc vario I love them .

One thing will say m8 is its bleeding taters right now, this time last year it was still t shirts and shorts but I have broken out my '84 issue camo trousers which are lined, British army passion killer longjohns, my army ribbed jumper and my donkey jacket plus a pair of ex NATO Austrian special forces boots which are thermally lined and a nice set of merino wool army socks to finish it off... nice n toastie now :D
