I feel so sorry for y'all, except the beer the food is absolutely not Oktoberfest food. Obatzda (the cheese spread) needs to be with paprika powder which gives it the typical taste, a Weißwurst is made in water or broth but not grilled and the skin shouldn't be eaten, Kasspätzle are an own dish, Schnitzel Wiener Art too which is eaten with potatoes salad or fries. The Leberkassemmel looked like a real one - it's mostly eaten with the sweet mustard that was served with the white sausage. Potato dumplings are a side dish to roasted pork and gravy. And who on earth told you the hats looked like they might be Bavarian? I'm from Bavaria and have never seen hats in my life like these ones. It was a nice try to show Americans the beauty of Bavarian festivities but it was not really Bavarian

German / Bavarian here. There is a lot of mixed up in this video. This video neither represents traditional Bavarian habits, clothing nor dish. Please treat this video as funny entertaining video - in best case. It´s hard to bear as a Bavarian. Pretzl (Breze, Brezn, Brezl) is not served with this kind of dip / sauce (this is no Obatzda at all). You - mainly non German - may order it and maybe get served something. Something non traditional at all. Butter, yes, or true Obazda (which is some kind of red due to paprika powder). I wouldn´t be surprised if the Oktoberfest adjusts on this never ending myth ... and serves something like this to satisfy foreigners. Also, please mind that the Bavarian Tracht (clothing, Dirndl, Lederhosn) is a serious tradition. It´s more like a regional uniform than a clown´s costume. Schnitzel traditionally comes with potato salad, or fried potatoes. Never ever seen it served with Käsespätzle (which is an own traditional Swabian dish). Never seen breaded Schnitzel served with red cabbage or Sauerkraut (which usually is served to roast ) Yodeling pickle: --> no tradition at all. German Beer: Always served with lots of foam ... not filled to the upper end. No words on how the Weisswurst is served. Pretzl throwing: Never heard of this. Had to look it up. Nothing Bavarian at all. It´s only a tradition of a village far from Bavaria. Leberkäse: Finally one almsot traditional one. .. But never served with Knödel. Knödel are served to roast and gravy. The guy with the gingerbread hearts .. is no Bavarian at all. He is the host of a satire tv show. I want to emphasize "satire". Those hearts - despite eatable - are neot meant to be eaten. It´s meant as a (Wiesn-) present for your beloved one. I´ve never seen one eating such a heart.

Weißwurst is supposed to be simmered in almost boiling water for about 10 min... No pan fried. What you served was not Weißwurst, they are typically about 10cm in length and quite crunchy. This is paired with sweet mustard. Cheers from Bavaria

This Weisswurst looks....how to say.....STRANGE?! :D I don't think they gave you a traditional correct one, normally, it is rather short and thick and it's only boiled, not grilled. You take off the peel and then you eat the inside of the Weisswurst only.

Sorry, but without foam on the German beer it's not possible because then the beer is stale and inedible because the foam on the beer shows how fresh the beer is. The longer the foam stays on the beer, the fresher and cleaner the beer glass is. So who Sweeping the foam from German beer is committing a mortal sin in the eyes of Germans. Fact: The foam ensures that too much oxygen does not come with the beer and the beer turns off faster.
