used to be a Barista at a Boba tea shop and while we weren't a Fast Food joint, we still had to make Boba whenever we were running low so one time I also said we're making fresh Boba to a customer and they were totally okay with the wait.

A lot of fast food is a lot better fresh, which is a bit of a design paradox If you really are making a fresh batch for them then telling them this is a given, and anybody who causes a ruckus is just being an asshole (regardless of what justification they may have) French fries for example are WAY worse after sitting out for more than 20 min, even.

heres a tip from someone who worked 4 years in customer service - and its not to sound like a dipstick but usually these kind of jobs are done with a fake smile, most of us were/are working just to make the ends meet. no funny stuff happens because of the threat of getting fired and not able to but food on our families tables. also most dont go into a job already knowing everyone, a lot of people watch your content because of well you and your friends. this day and age its hard to find friends that can be that off hinge and straight up funny. love the videos just putting this out there. have a good day Smiity

Fast food warrior behind the counter here with some fun tips; the customer is always right, until they leave. The manager is /usually/ wrong. Communication and focus take you through the hardcore rushes. If you have stagnant time, youre doing something wrong (or business is dead, it just never has been at my work locations). The line cook is always high, or they are always high, but they will do a kickass job 12/10 times

Unless you work at Wendy's... or Little Caesars... had a manager that dropped the F-Bomb in the middle of rush hour, and I had never heard over 20 people breathing in that small lobby... and in a Taco Casa, the line cook punched their 2 inch false nails through their plastic gloves while making burritos... was rather disgusting. Seriously curious where you worked, and what state, as that sounds like an exceptional workplace environment. Over at the Wendy's, I even had a manager threaten to skull stomp a minor into the sidewalk because they were complaining about the "endless" rush, while still working mind you, and then leaving to rob the safe and burn out... remembered a word I hadn't used since high school, which was Nepotism, and I proudly snapped my fingers and pointed at that former manager, now employee, and stated "Nepostism! I remembered a word :D".

I have been working fast food for the past 6 years, and ill try to give my tips with a team shooter example just to make it easier to understand. 1) STICK TO YOUR ROLES - If you are the bagger, do not go into the kitchen unless you 100% need to. You are only stepping on the chefs toes. Like in Marvel Rivals, you do not need 3 healers on the team when you have 5 positions that need filled. 2) DO THE STUFF THAT TAKES THE LONGEST FIRST - If your burgers take 8 minutes to cook from raw, put them on first then everything else that takes a little less time. In Overwatch, you want to use your abilties that have the longest cooldown first, then the second longest, so that they come off cooldown around the same time and you are prepared for a fight faster. 3) BE ABLE TO DO A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING - This kinda contradicts rule 1, but even a healer needs to be able to deal damage. If the chef goes out to get something and you need an order, you should know how to make it just incase. 4) WORK TOGETHER - working together makes everybody's job easier in the long run, so learn how your coworkers work and help with that. 5) STAY FOCUSED - Pretty self explanatory, but staying focused will overall make doing a fast and good job that much easier.

IRL restaurant orders get too specific to reasonably do that if it’s something like burgers or pizza. And even for other things there’s a noticeable difference between it being fresh from the grill/oven/fryer and being kept under a heat lamp for more than like an hour.

Heres some amazing tips for a fast food employee 1. Take your time with every order-people love waiting. 2. Always forget the napkins. Nobody really needs them. 3. Mix up the ketchup and chili sauce to save time. 4. Put ice in every drink, even when they say no ice. 5. Speak so quietly that customers have to guess what you’re saying. 6. Memorize orders but purposely get them wrong. 7. Always give change in the smallest coins possible. 8. Call out the wrong name when orders are ready. 9. Never clean the soda machine-adds “character” to the drinks. 10. Act offended when customers complain about cold fries. 11. Take personal calls at the register. 12. Drop a fry, pick it up, and serve it anyway-“Five-second rule!” 13. Upsell every item aggressively, even when they say no. 14. Never smile-keep it “authentic.” 15. Forget to close the lids on drinks properly. 16. Mix up the diet and regular sodas; it’s all the same, right? 17. Ignore customers who look “undecided.” They’ll figure it out. 18. Keep the drive-thru window open during thunderstorms. 19. Always put pickles on burgers, even if they’re allergic. 20. Hide extra condiments behind the counter so no one can find them. 21. Sprinkle salt unevenly on fries for “surprise flavor zones.” 22. Replace the coffee with yesterday’s leftovers. 23. Use the wrong sauces intentionally-it’s a taste test! 24. Respond to complaints with, “Well, that’s your opinion.” 25. Give random items from the menu when you run out of ingredients. 26. Put chicken nuggets in a burger wrapper. 27. Forget the straws for every drink order. 28. Close the register just as someone walks up to pay. 29. Yell the order number as loud as possible. 30. Ignore online orders-they can wait! 31. Give everyone the same size fries, regardless of what they ordered. 32. Use your hands to scoop up fries-gloves are optional. 33. Replace regular patties with veggie patties and vice versa. 34. Eat a nugget or two from the customer’s order-they’ll never notice. 35. Ignore the cleaning schedule; the place is fine as it is. 36. Talk about how gross the food is while serving it. 37. Forget to tell customers about extra charges for substitutions. 38. Leave the milkshake machine broken indefinitely. 39. Serve half-melted ice cream because “it’s faster that way.” 40. Put half a tomato slice on burgers to “save costs.” 41. Refill the saltshakers with sugar and vice versa. 42. Only half-wrap burritos so they fall apart when picked up. 43. Blast heavy metal music in the dining area. 44. Always “forget” to update the menu board with new items. 45. Give customers dirty trays to hold their food. 46. Respond to every question with “I don’t know; I just work here.” 47. Ignore any special dietary requests. 48. Wear headphones and pretend you can’t hear customers. 49. Always give the wrong receipt. 50. End every interaction with, “Good luck eating that.”

put the bots all on the front, 1 on grills, 1 on fryer, 1 runner (drinks and dessert), 1 drive-thru/runner, another one must assist in assembly of the food if things went busy (if not, probably better to manage the whole floor from the front to the kitchen and try to assist in any way). You may discuss before the opening in assigning roles. Finish the old order before start to do the new one. Different part of the kitchen may finish particular order before others so it's the role of the runner to gather all the ordered purchase and present it to customers. whoever on the grills, make sure 1 grill full patty cooked first before burger assembly (gather the cooked patty into the tray/sorter? first before begin assembly), same goes to fryer. Information must always being circulated in the kitchen and always ask every section of the kitchen if the order is currently in the progress, didn't start yet, or already finished. Importance of the communication is to ensure the flow of movement of product without any interruption.

Worked at Mcdonalds once for about 1.5 years, not that different. Like as in its exactly the same experience. Sidebar: After that first day, you'll go to sleep and you'll still hear the beeping.

As someone who worked second window and grill at Micky D's I can say, yes. Its very chaotic. It was also kinda refreshing and fun learning it all but became a drag when I had nothing left to learn. Then I started handing out orders in a JFK voice impression. My store got a lot of phone calls saying that "The dude at second window made my day" I would also pay for my old co-workers and my old boss's food from my previous job in HVAC. :>

When it comes to dealing with fast food work my main tip is, Pre-prep anything and everything you can during your down time, so that way when chaos starts you can get a jumpstart on it.

for future reference on how to do fast food, one person is the boss, you never leave your station unless the boss tells you to go, once your on your station you do not go to someone else's station unless the boss has told you to.

I used to work at McDonalds and always got put out front because I was really good with customers. Loved working Drive Thru because I didn't have to think, just take order and place. I never served in Drive Thru much but especially working nights it kept me sane, that and bin crushing. No customers out back. Tips and tricks include: finding spots with no cameras to gossip with customers (gets amazing reviews) and the manager is usually incompetent, especially high up managers that haven't actually worked up front in a while. Also (at least at my chain) there is no such thing as tmi on overnight. Become the person everyone wants to tell gossip to because it gives you a lot of ammunition!

Friendly tip from someone who’s worked in food service for nearly a decade. Get good at one thing, and only that one thing. The more positions you’re cross-trained on, the more work you be burdened with, with likely no additional compensation.

Ive never worked fast food but I was a line cook at a restaurant, and the amount of yelling and chaos is still pretty accurate
