What's funny is we were raised learning with 1 training wheel, not at first though. We were given the normal 2 training wheels until we got a bit older or more comfortable then down to 1 training wheel, that way you could practice balancing but if you were struggling you just lean back to the side with the extra wheel, then down to a normal bike.
