Amazing voices, amasing technique! I'm happy to listen you again. First time it was in Arezzo in 1992, I was a member of children choir Vesna. Now I'm 30 years old, but I remember your singing since this time.

This was the best batch of the MADZ.. Solid bass, razor tenor, floating altos and power sopranos👍👌🇵🇭

I agree. I hear a lot of flats and sharps and heavy voice placements among the current batch.
@deiiisan3 жыл бұрын
Same. In my opinion, this batch had the best sopranos. They really soar! The current ones don't have this tone.

In "Salimm su, tanto chi'i' vidi, De le cose belle che porta 'I" - that small opening to paradise was sung so delicately and effectively that when "Ciel" is first introduced (E) - the perfect third - heaven, sounded the way it should be. It's so Callas, I love it!

Man, they did great. That competition is crazy competitive, especially since they were going against the Vesna Children's choir which also won the grand prix before. Vesna is probably the toughest of the challengers cuz they are a children's choir, angelic voices and all. Put together Vesna and Madz and you'll probably get as close to perfection as is possible.

the story behind why they're sitting semi circle is they consider the audience the other half of the circle, just like jamming with the crowd

"The group performs a variety of styles and forms but it specializes in the Madrigal, a polyphonic and challenging musical style popular during the Renaissance period where singers and guests would gather around the table during a banquet to sight-sing and make music together. This served as the inspiration for their unique style of singing - singing seated in a semicircle without a conductor". - Wiki

True(",) Singing sitting down is much more challenging than standing up. This is where you can tell a great choir from a not, no offense to all other choir groups. Two Thumbs Up for the Philippine Madrigal Singers! You all have made our country SO PROUD! And brought HONORS as well(",)(,")
