After nearly 17 years, i'm still listening to this tirelessly...it's April 20, 2024 now. ❤

MADZ's selection of this song piece was the 'tour de force' of their performance. It had everything the judges would want to hear from the 'pianos' to the 'fortes' requiring a double choir, yet the ensemble was only about 20 people. I wouldn't be surprised if the judges were silently stunned by their powerful rendition. Kaya nga double champion sila and they are now feared by other competitors. A tough act to follow especially for incoming new MADZ members. Kudos and more power to MADZ...

Maybe replying decade later, but I'm lucky to be trained by one Madz as our University Choir Master/Trainer back in my college days. One thing na inimpart ni Maam samin noon is conquering the room kahit quartet exam lang. Talagang puspusan ang vocalization training na ginawa nya saamin dati. Really blessed to experience bit of Madz training quality.

When I was a freshman in high school (2004) I was part of the choir that debuted this piece under Stroope's direction. This is wonderful! I love the interpretation. Just wanted to share how much I liked it. Brought back great memories.

This 2007 grand prix's really great. Vesna Children Choir, Taipei Chamber Choir and Philippine Madrigal Singers showed an excellent singing. They're all worth to become a champion. But Mads with this song, a masterpiece, not only shows ultimate difficulty in singing but also a beauty. They deserve the winning.

Plug your earphones from 6:44 until the end ! Im a choir enthusiast but I never had these incredible goose bumps every time hear them (Madz) sing this masterpeice Riveder le Stelle The composer will refer you to this performance as a the world standard! Hundreds of renditions were made but this 2007 European Grand Prix champion is incomparable. A very complex and hard piece to pull but they made it so effortless and they sang from heart which makes one cry

Quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle But soon it will be night and we must rise to the stars. Now is the time to depart this place for we have seen and experienced it all. Keep moving! Return to paradise. The wings of hell’s monarch are heard nearby. We must leave quickly, but soon it will be night. I climbed toward paradise with no thought of looking back. I passed through a small opening and finally saw heaven and the supreme light and beheld once again the stars.

When I first heard this, goosebumps suffused my entire body and I proceeded to rape the replay button. Then I read the lyrics and the story. I went to listen to it again and couldn't stop crying. "It is a story about Dante, the Pilgrim, and his trials and tribulations as he journeyed from the Inferno (hell), on to Purgatory, and finally to Paradiso (heaven). His travel is full of danger and adventure, but he is absolutely dedicated to reaching "the supreme light" (Paradiso)."

Hi Sir Carlo. I was the one who asked Dr. Z. Randall Stroope to try to listen and consider this video of Madz to become his listening sample audio/video for We Beheld Once Again the Stars. I was just happy that he did. I told Sir Mark about this. He just laughed and was happy about it. Last month, I tried to contact Dr. Randall to consider another Madz performance of "Caritas et Amor". He replied once and told me that he'll check it. :)

"mejo mahirap"? haha, that's an understatement, pare. its one of the most complex pieces i've encountered so far. it's fairly possible to sing the notes properly, but i think that the madz version upped the degree of difficulty because of the way they tackled it. the fortessimos are perfect. the minor additions like the overtone at 2:23 are just sublime. the "notti" that you heard at 2:10 is actually a result of the natural emphasis on the first syllable as dictated by the italian language.
