While gay and confidently so, he has a personality that is uniquely him and does have genuine charm and charisma instead of us being told he is charismatic.

The creator of the comic even said he wasn’t interested in just telling the same story again. While I admit, I would’ve enjoyed a more book accurate adaptation, I admire them for being willing to take a chance with a new story in this remake heavy culture where most people are only willing to make a few superfluous changes.

I feel like Scott's ending in the game is more the gen route, because he beats up Nega Scott and dates several women. Like full scumbag route. Well on second thought, the movie route ends with Older Scott so I guess you're still right, but interesting to consider the game.

I actually love that Old and Even Older Scott are just the result of Scott warping the lessons he learned throughout the comic. Making him think that his relationship with Ramona was a mistake, calling back to when he got destroyed by Envy breaking up with him, but in an extremely larger scale because his relationship with Ramona was much more significant. I feel like the comparison between Nega Scott and Even Older Scott is unfair because they're polar opposites. Nega Scott is everything wrong with Scott while Even Older Scott is everything right with Scott, shifted around in a way that makes him the villain.

While Older Scott is taking the lessons, and like you say, applying them incorrectly, he doesn't learn from accountability and communicating. While Ramona runs away from everything out of fear.

The point of this anime is that Scott and Ramona's original relationship was toxic, cause Scott was the only one putting effort into the relationship. In this anime both of them are putting effort into having a good relationship which ends with them having a better ending. @@len4129 she did, its just that Scott was putting wayyyyy too much effort into the relationship. A healthy relationship only comes if both partners put equal amounts of effort into it. Thats why this version has a happier ending. It wasn't scott who solved Ramona's issues, it was Ramona who talked to her exes and resolved her doubts, while Scott worked on himself and grew as a person. The comics are great on their own, im not criticising it. I'm just saying that this continuation adds onto it and points out the potential flaws.

I still thoroughly enjoyed the show while only knowing the gist of the evil exes plot but I feel like I would've appreciated it a lot more had I known the whole picture of what it's based on and gotten to see the complete evolution of the characters.

My fav bit was with Wallace and Todd wish they could’ve been endgame. But I was really confused when Ramona just dropped out of nowhere that she can travel through Scott’s dreams? And he was so chill with it. So I was like, ok so this is going to be completely random and weird. But I really liked it.

I watched the show to see it as a recreation of the live-action. I was very surprised to see it have turn like the way it did. Spoilers below: Seeing Scott 'die', make me immediately think "Shit... Anything could happen now..." In the end I love that we got an alternate version Scott Pilgrim that had a wholesome ending where the ex's didn't die and all improved mentally. Loved the ending with Older Scott taking on everyone like a damn warrior. Although I would've liked to see Older Scott and Older Ramona actually get back together after that big battle.

It just occured to me that Even Older Scott became an Evil Ex, complete with the red eyes (which I know is also evocative of Nega Scott) and the unhealthy obsession with Ramona. Doesn't change much, but it makes me appreciate the choice to portray him that way, even if it might feel like a fan fic that takes some leaps here and there.

As someone who’s read the comics, watched the movie, and played the game, I still loved this show. Scott talks about his fuzzy memories, meaning that in reality, this ISN’T the comics Scott. Basically, the movie and comics are in another universe. But in this universe, if Old Scott hadn’t pulled Scott to the future, Scott would have gone on to beat all 7 exes but would never have undergone the character growth he gets.

I absolutely loved the movie and started buying comics (unfortunately they arent all available where I live) and this show was just so damn fun. It felt like an extremely well written fanfiction of the movie and it was awesome. It is also great as a standalone thing

I'm not gonna lie...I really enjoyed this animated series. And I was more than happy that they got the original cast to reprise their roles. The art style was very similar, if not completely similar, to the comics as well, which also really worked in its favor. And despite it being an alternate version to the graphic comics, and the movie...it was still very entertaining. I was glad to see more of the other characters and how much more demph they got, and make the league into something much more than pitiful exes who were trying to win back the heart of the girl who always ran away from making true connections. Almost everything worked for this project. It was good to see the complexity of the characters, and how they wanted to learn from their mistakes, and refused to let the past define them - especially Ramona, seeing how she realized and accepted that she made mistakes and how she was part of the problem; and allowed herself to become better. But I am disappointed that we got to see a lot less of Scott Pilgrim...despite him being the supposed main character. And some changes I didn't really care for...like Todd Ingram suddenly having an obsession with Wallace Wells, despite the latter not being into him - it just didn't really fit into the story (in my opinion). Also, Wallace found someone else in the last episode. I would have maybe had Todd and Envy Adams seem like there was a chance for them to get back together, and maybe try to become better people. Also, the battle between Old Scott Pilgrim and the others...I would have liked to see it last just a little longer. Plus, I will admit that the chemistry between Scott and Ramona could have been focused on a little more, 'cause they fell in love a bit too quickly. So it would have helped if the first and last episode of the season were closer to thirty minutes. And maybe the series could have been just a bit more "mature". However, I will say that the voice acting...did come off as weak at times. That being said, I am very hopeful for a second season to be in the works.

I have a few ideas about this. If we see the future scott as the movie universe scott it makes more sense how he ended up the way he did. I would also like to say that character development isn't a straight line. A characters journey doesn't only track by the lessons they learn, they can at any point forget or ignore those lessons.

I understand how the books and the movie could help you understand the characters and more about the plot but I understood the characters and plot without needing that extra information.
