Fun story: When I was 10ish I had a go-kart and I just got a new wheel and everything on it. It was a really hot day and they just payed out new tar on my road which obviously enough was very hot, but because heat causes expansion I went to do a power slide and the thing exploded, it didn't just pop off but the literal tyre exploded and the threading was everywhere.

Best pro tip ever: seat your tire with no sealant. Once it’s seated, let the air out and remove the valve core and inject sealant with either the Stan’s tire injector or the little bottles of Stan’s (the nozzle fits perfectly into a valve with no core). That way if it does blow off the rim like this it won’t make a mess.

Try using watered down Elmers white glue or something similar and old tires on an old rim. or maybe ask a bike shop to donate slightly damaged ones to see how they fail. That actually sounds like a good idea! team up with a bike shop or two and have them donate their old parts they pull off the bikes and do autopsies and tests on them pushing them to the limit to see the failure mode, warning signs, and how catastrophic it would be if it happened while riding it or while you were working on it ect. you can also do head to heads like with two old pairs of pedals to see which takes more grinding before it dies and grind a few pairs down then measure the time and the amount of material it takes, I'm sure if you pick up some of their old stuff you can find plenty of tests you can do with them or just text it out and see what the people want you to do with it and how you should destroy it. you can also then fully recycle it by separating up the pieces by material lol!
