That reminded me of one room I was given at Mirage, on the third floor. Opened the drapes to find myself looking at industrial air conditioning units. Only a couple feet from the window too. And sky. That was my view. It actually felt like I was in the basement. I went down, and asked for and received a nice room on the 9th floor with views of the pool.

Great review ! I love your upbeat and fun attitudes ! I appreciate the entry level room review, their entry King Room is huge, nice, palatial bathroom. Your room view was crummy, but if you pay extra for a strip view room, there is no better strip view room than a high floor on Mandalay Bay. At night it's breathtaking. Casino is nice, restaurants are good, and the pool is outstanding. Lazy River float tubes cost $50 so make sure and bring your own and you can fill it up with provided air hoses. The major downside is the location. You have to walk so far to get to center strip. The closest monorail is a very long journey to MGM Grand. The tram to Excalibur helps a bit, but every time I go here, I just get tired of all the walking to get anywhere else. If you want to spend 3-4 days just at Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur, it's acceptable, but if you want to visit the rest of the strip, I would not stay here. A better alternative with even a bigger room with a balcony is MGM Signature.

Have to agree. As a visitor who frequents regularly (twice a year if I can) I usually go for the cheapest strip option available. You'll be surprised at my worst... Ceasar's. I had a comp there and the room that I was given was great, save for the every-thirty-minute slam by the HVAC system as it switched circuits was not so great. I had a cement view which didn't bother me because I didn't pay for the room, but I at least expected to be able to sleep. Sadly, I wasn't even afforded that luxury at Caesars and thus my complaints. Thankfully, after nearly an hour with management, they moved me and it was good the remainder of the trip. But I don't want to overstate this... The situation was minor compared to the FOUR DAYS I was in town. We got it figured out, got it settled, I was happy, and we had a great time as usual. I will still book Caesars though perhaps not again in a rando cheap room if I can help it.

It's amazing how soaking your feet in hot water after a long day of walking is so smoothing. Maybe you should find a square bucket for your RV. I think a foot spa might be a waste of space, a bucket is multi purpose.

Hubby and I are headed to Vegas Oct. 29-Nov. 1, 2022, Are the October weather conditions conducive to swimming in Vegas? We're clueless Chicagoans and have no idea. Plan is to stay at Paris the first night for a wedding, then we want to try somewhere different. Somewhere with a super fun pool! Narrowing it down to Mandalay Bay or the Golden Nugget. We stayed at Bellagio on the last trip.

If you got that room using a MyVEGAS comp…. That would explain the view. Mandalay Bay is one of my favorite properties on the strip. My only gripe is how far it is from everything else, however, some trips you don’t even want to leave the resort. Especially with those pools!

Mirage has lovely bathtubs! I love taking a bath at night there, throwing in a few bath bombs. But with MGM selling Mirage, I bet those bathtubs, along with Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden, will be removed. :(

Just got back from 4 nights at Mandalay Bay you can stay in the cheapest room there, in fact you could sleep in the hall for free. And guess what the smash cheese burger downstairs was $26, the glass of beer was $12, the Margarita at the pool got the small one was $16, chair rental at pool a mere $50, umbrella just another $25, coffee in the morning why it is $7, want to play at the tables $25 per hand. So the Las Vegas of old isn't around any more for you that remember it, so if you came, and we had a great time, better come heavy if not you will not last a day.

In terms of overall value and location, we prefer Bally’s for a truly cheap hotel option on the Strip.

I would have appreciated it if you had said at the beginning what the total cost of the room was. You waited until the end and sort of mumbled it. I realize that time of year makes the price vary, but if you said the month and year, we can decide if it is worth it and consider price rise as time passes. Would be good to know what a medium room rate was to compare.
