Wow this is so different to Australia. Here you have to go straight home after a test. Then if you test positive you get a call from the health department and cant leave your house for 2weeks or test negative. All your contacts from the last 2 weeks also get a phone call to isolate for 2 weeks and get tested if they have symptoms.

No disrespect, but how are you allowed to leave your house while covid positive? Here in Australia, you have to remain in your house from the moment you go to get covid tested, if your results are positive you aren’t allowed to leave the house or accept visitors. They will also contact trace to find out where you’ve been and for anyone you’ve been around (family, work etc) and they will also have to isolate for 14 days and if they develop symptoms in those 14 days will also need to be tested. If you leave the house while out on ordered isolation/quarantine.. you will get a big fine. You also aren’t allowed out of house after quarantine until you receive a negative result. Unless you need medical attention, which there are still strict rules to follow.

Yep as an Aussie nurse on a covid ward I was just shaking my head the whole time. It’s no wonder the number in the USA are so bad. The entire family are now close contacts (if not already infected) and should quarantine for 10-14 days and ALL be tested. Also they were both positive and no masks??? and Carlin touching her face and then touching the door 🙄. People jus let don’t understand how extremely contagious it is.

I mean if you can take Layla to another relative that would be better bcuz she has heart issues. Please have her re-tested. Don’t let her put her hands in her mouth. Even though your both positive you need to be cleaning like crazy. Also, Carlin when your breastfeeding you need to make sure your breast is clean when she nurses or when you pump. My family was told the opposite. My uncle tested positive for covid and said they don’t need to social distance from anyone in their household, they if they were exposed, they are already either going to get it or not. So the kids who tested negative aren’t social distancing from my uncle. Why are rules different in different states?

TheWhiteFam hello. Every patient that I’ve discharged home is told to quarantine from family for 10 days after they stop having symptoms. Kids are vulnerable, but more so if they have health issues. BUT if parents aren’t able to get help with the children, then they are required to wear a mask in the house. No kissing, always washing hands. And washing all surfaces every time they use bcuz we all know kids put hands in their mouth all the time. This is how we’ve been doing it and I fully support it.

my thought exactly. But we have to remember no one is perfect we are all human and we all cope differently when it comes to being separated from our little ones. I know I was in a situation where I had major surgery, in the hospital for 36 days, and I couldn't take care of my little ones, my mom was taking care of me in the hospital, my husband was working full time and taking care of me. My kids went to his mom's house for 2 1/2 months and it was HARD and possibly the wrong decision looking back, but at the time, we had no choice. We all just need to do our part in this covid thing whatever ''our part'' looks like in this to each person individually.

Carlin and Evan so sorry for y'all. My family all had covid too. I literally prayed to die twice I was so sick. I'm not a healthy person anyway so it was worse for me. Both our sons are type 1 diabetic one did ok but my older son is still coughing. It attacked my stomach and my bladder and I never had the cough but we all are still struggling with terrible congestion and I'm older like ur parents and I'm struggling wive memory and not being able to find my wording. I'll be praying for u all and ur families God is what got us through and prayers we had multiple churches praying and God took care of us. Love u guys.

It’s amazing how different things are in different countries when tested positive for Covid-19, if you test positive here you have to go straight home no if’s or buts, no visiting family even if you are outside the house, you stay home inside your own house, no driving nothing

It’s not different in different countries. It’s like that here too. But it’s not like they follow people around so people don’t always go straight home. I felt terrible for Carlin because you could tell how absolutely horrible she was feeling and she had to go sleep in that car. No way in the world would I have done that. I wouldn’t do that feeling well though. He should have just gone straight home and picked her up and then they went to their house and then figured out Layla later. Just him being around their house all day touching all their stuff and being at that door and touching it etc can spread so many germs. And I know they are young and doing what they thought was best at the time. But to anyone who tests positive, please just stay home and don’t go anywhere for at least 10 days after your symptoms disappear. Most people feel okay, but it’s scary for the people who get it and become critical.

@@megan807 you do know that sunlight kills the virus almost instantly. Honestly outside on a sunny day is the safest place to be. Why they refuse to talk about this in the media is beyond me. Well not really, as pushing fear is their favorite game. Most of all the positive results now are from in home family member to family member. We need to be outside (distanced) and not cooped up in closed corridors with circulated air. Vitamin D deficiency is now proven to be a link for most who become sick who dont have other issues or are otherwise healthy. Get that sunshine, take your vitamins, get enough sleep. Get exercise, and eat foods that boost the immune system. Let's not keep talking fear and misleading information, and let's talk about ways to give yourself the best chance at fiting this. Remember less then a half a percent die from this, and the overwhelming majority of those are the very old and very sick. Relax

I tested positive for Covid July 8th and my husband tested positive a couple days later. I have never been so sick in my life. I ended up in the hospital July 15. I didn't feel somewhat normal again until August 5. I still haven't gotten my sense of smell back. Have you? I'm worried I may never get it back. Thank goodness my husband and I were the only two in the house that tested positive. We ran fevers for over a week. We kept a pallet on the floor on each of our sides of the bed. As our fevers broke we would climb onto our pallets to sweat out the fever. We continued to have night sweats for an entire month. This disease was crazy for us. We are close to your parent's age and Covid definitely hit us hard. I'm thankful for the healing.

My son and husband had Covid in April. It was absolutely horrible for my son (he’s 12) to the point he almost required hospitalization. Please, please please wear a mask at all times when outside your house, social distance, use hand sanitizer and wash your hands frequently. Prayers to all of you. A family friend tested positive on July 4th. He was placed on a Ventilator for a while. He beat it and is in rehab to get his strength back up. He will be coming home soon. He has been in the hospital and rehab for over 40 days.

Prayers going up for your family! I tested positive on June 30th, just tested negative last week! Still have all of the symptoms but the cough and chest pain is much better! Cold fruit helps, jello, soup, spices on everything because of nothing tasting right, popsicles, cough drops, hard candy, for sore throat, budesonide for the nebulizer if they have not already!! My friend and I took every precaution. Unfortunately she went into a place where she didn't find out until she'd been in line for almost 45 minutes that the backroom staff were not taking precautions. Two days later she developed Covid-19. Her brain tumour, pancreatic cancer and Covid-19 have been fighting it out for 10 days. She's still alive (August 25). Her doctor is amazed. I tell her that God's not done with her. Every day we talk about what we're going to do when she's recovered from Covid-19 and the cancers stabilize. Knowing that she's got some people praying for her is helping her fight the illness when she starts thinking about how her daughters' Dad and her son's Dad would be thrilled if she died so they could be released from child support. Bret Michaels didn't sing "Give me anything but God to believe in", he sang "Give me something to believe in."

My sister and her boyfriend caught covid, it took them a month to fully recover. Their symptoms were not severe and neither had to get hospitalized. My niece who is almost 2 who also does not have underlying health conditions never got symptoms. And never caught it. Praise the Lord 🙏🏻 I would listen to yalls pediatrician though.

Be thankful you don't have it worse than some are in ICU on ventilators. Fighting for their lives. My youngest daughter and her boyfriend got it in April they were both completely down for 2 weeks coughing so bad they both lost weight he lost 20 lbs she lost 13. They were going to admit my daughter but they require your oxygen rate to be a certain number hers was 2 away from it. She finally was able to get up after 2 weeks but they had affects from it for almost 2 months. The kids just lost their taste nothing had flavor everything was bland. She's got 4 kids the oldest one lives away from home she came home to take care of everyone so wear your masks 😷 use your sanitizer everytime you leave a store don't have access to washing with soap and water. Use it on your steering wheel and keys spray lysol on them even your doors whatever you do ✋ stop and protect yourself if going out. You both take care. Just pray for all the others that are so sick with it in the hospital unable to see their families 🙏 😢 the hospitals are so full of patients with it in some states they have stopped doing elective surgeries again so they have space for all the people who have it. People just don't get it going to these huge outdoor events college students you see videos of hundreds of students with no masks a few days later several have been tested positive for it then you hear its tripled the amount that has it. Same with bars. People need to quit the nonsense. Not you two just talking about others keep seeing on the news. Take care. God bless you and your family. You guys are doing awesome! Excellent choice in bringing Layla home! We all (10 of us) got it in January. I'm still nursing our youngest who had just turned a year. He had a low grade fever for several days and lots of congestion. He gagged and threw up a lot because of the congestion. Fussy, of course. Worse case scenario in our household was our oldest son (23). He was in bed with a fever for about 10 days. Hardly moved. We all were extremely weak. Achy. Feverish. No sense of taste or smell. Very out of breath. At that time we just assumed it was some big, bad flu. I'm so thankful we didn't know what it was otherwise we would have been more fearful. Just an observation but those who are dying are the ones who are intubated. Every doctor knows that bacteria can collect in the lungs within 24 hours of someone who's been intubated. Most people are dying of pnemonia with this thing. Why? They are intubated too long. Just a tip, use lots of eucalyptus type oils (something with camphor like Vicks) to keep the congestion loose. I’m so sorry that you both have covid19. You are in my thoughts and prayers! I believe I caught covid19 back in March but the testing wasn’t available in my area yet so I couldn’t get tested then. I developed symptoms such as chills, sore throat, fever, cough, a severe migraine headache (I couldn’t even go on the iPad or cell phone because the light bothered me it was horrible), I also developed intense back and neck pain..it literally felt like I broke my back it hurt so bad. I got tested twice a few months after I developed symptoms because I was still feeling sick but my tests came back negative. I may try to do the antibody test to see if I had it.

I know how ruff you are having it and I am so very sorry. I had Covid back in Feb./March and it was bad. I still have side effects from it but they are slowly going away. I pray you guys get better fast and that you do not have the long lasting effects from covid. Praying for baby Layla too!

I got extremely sick two months after I gave birth that was identical to covid. My husband and I both were critically sick and I kept nursing my baby and he never caught it. Praying for you all right now

I still believe Carlie had Covid months ago when she was in the hospital. I know they said meningitis but they really couldn't determine what was wrong with her. She had every symptom of Covid. Please take care and know this virus is no joke. Prayers for your family 👪 🙏

I am recovering from covid and drs say covid stays in your system 6 weeks and they can't guarantee immunity for more than 2 to 3 months. But evan got tested a few weeks ago so he could have gotten a false positive.

OMG I hope you are feeling better since you posted this! At least all 3 of you are together! Layla is just the cutest chubby baby I have ever seen. My granddaughter is 20 months old and she is just so little. I think she weighs 19 pounds. They had to bring her to the doctors because they thought she had failure to thrive but she did not have that she is just tiny!! Love your little family stay well until next time. Some people have it but don’t show symptoms, so that’s how it spreads, think about when you have walking pneumonia some people show flu like symptoms and others don’t.
