I grew up on a farm, about 150 acres. Nothing like it. Had the greatest childhood, with the creek and pastures. Laying in the grass in the summer, looking up at the blue sky just dreaming. It was wonderful. Best of luck to you guys.

I'm very happy for you all! The creek, rock formations, and especially the cave! I can imagine families from ancient civilizations sitting up under the overhang to the cave staying cool during a hot summer or even as shelter to cook and sleep. It's an absolutely breathtaking property and you have been blessed to now be the caretakers of such beautiful land. I could see it as a camp with cabins to rent for guided hunts during a specific week or two each year. Build a tiny chapel on the property for small weddings, wedding pictures, receptions at a pavilion, tubing down the, what my Alabamian kinfolk call, the "crick"! 😁 My mind is whirling for the possibilities for generating income, a well as just a place for your family to relax, have cookouts, etc. and make memories with your girls. Looking forward to tagging along through YT on your adventures and cleanup there.

The land remind me of the old westerners back in the sixties. Your own paradise. All the rock around the creek is probably where there was a river bed. If there was a flash flood it would become a large river.

In the Welling area we found arrowheads, but mostly we found lots and lots of sea fossils! That limestone is great for finding LOTS of stuff! I’m a wee bit envious of all the adventures in store for you all!! Congratulations!! Great purchase!!

When I was 16, my dad bought a house where a man and his family had lived for 40 years. The man just backed his suitcase, walked out the door, and left everything else behind. His children were grown, his wife had passed. He just walked away. It was so much fun going through the attic trunks and such. My favorite find was a ladies seal skin coat. My sisters and I were allowed to wear it on special occasions like proms. We found many photograph albums. My mother contacted the man's daughter and she was grateful to have them....along with a few other items that were her mother's.
