Big respect for Matt, he does a lot of wrenching and you get to see a lot of the high and low points on a vehicle. But, honestly, I have respect for all of SxS Blog's staff opinions when it comes to vehicles. SXS B will likely get this thing mostly sorted, first step seems to be pointed at the suspension tuning...relatively easy to change with a few thousand dollars. Really surprised all the fancy looking control arms ended up with a harsh chatter ride and a heavy/slow responding vehicle. However, the biggest surprise was that tire rub... Does polishing your upper control arm with your tire affect handling? If not, it's just kinda junky imo.
@ruyguy88888 ай бұрын
Man.. i REALLY appreciate the no BS review on the rig. I was low-key rooting for Matt to get one because I also think it suits his driving style as well. Super pumped on a recovery rig build ! Max tire size, Front/Rear Winch, Spare tire mount, Matt's famous Pack-out setup, on-board air compressor with lightweight air-bag jack, kinetic ropes and soft shackles... wicked setup. With the current rig, you guys determined that it's a momentum car... so make it into a better momentum car. It's not out of your wheelhouse to make it to races like KOH or Best in the Desert, UTV Legends, etc... That car is setup to run fast and straight right out of the box. You guys got to experience Baja a few times too. Suspension, ECU Tune, bigger turbo?, better tire setup. "Make it Fast-make it last"

Got to see the chopped in half one at UTV Invasion at St Anthony's this year. Switching to silicone charge pipes, DCT, anti-lag, so many amazing features on this new car. If Polaris doesn't switch over to a DCT in the near future, I may be switching to the dark side. That DCT is the #1 selling point in my book to never deal with belt issues. Glad you guys reviewed it, nobody has talked about bottoming out yet and that did not seem like a big enough whoop to really slam the rear like that especially on a smart shock model. It seems like a hell of a car but I'm glad you pointed out that it's still not a perfect car. Wonder if it's the added weight of the DCT on the back? Also my first time seeing tire rub in a review like that as well. Even if it's lower PSI on the tire you shouldn't have to be restricted in tire pressure because more than not you need to air down the tires on these cars for ride quality and grip. I'm excited to see what aftermarket companies do with the suspension design to allow for wider paddles. Tooele Valley Motorsports here in Utah is running a set of skinny skat traks currently so paddles are doable on the car but you aren't going to get some wide STU's on there without spacers or huge offsets.

@@mattmoose1984 - Smart shocks are a unique creature. I have them on my X3. I will never go back to regular shocks They are SO GOOD. That said, no-one has figured out how to program/valve them in a way where you get the plush-ness of comfort mode, with the bottom out resistance of sport+. So when I'm at the dunes, I'm in sport+ unless I'm in the slow choppy stuff. I am NOT a polaris fan, but I wish the X3 had the "oh shit" button like the polaris. Which is a money saver. I watched the video we've Travis pastrona ripped this in the dunes and it was amazing. And I can't remember the racers name but this video where they let this machine out to see us just amazing.. The really huge thing about this machine is just how planted it is to the ground.
