I get that Back to the Future vibe every time I walk out to my shop (Blue 87 Toyota 4x4). Ranger reminds me of my buddy's truck, $700 extracab raingutter Ranger (AKA Goldmember). His was "supposed" to be a budget build (now backhalved/linked/engine swapped/caged). Good luck with it.

I was about to say $2200 for that Ranger? Then you said Orange County. Then I saw all the parts. I bought my 92 4x4 4.0 with issues for only $250 in the midwest. I can tell you, the 4.0 have oiling issues on the top end so make sure you replace the top end ( you can hear the ticking even after the "rebuild") you will have to run a little thinner oil likely synthetic to protect it when done or you will end up replacing everything again.

Got one with 171k, 5spd for $500. Turns out it just needed the clutch bled, and a new throttle cable. A running ranger that doesn’t burn or leak anything for less than $600.

I have a 2wd 93 thats Red with the 4.0v6 and manual trans, Mine looks waaaaaaay worse tho. Like 500k on it, but it still starts when its -30F out. 4.0 rangers came with the 8.8 rear instead of that weak a$$ 7.5", so thats nice
