It’s so true ...all this “new” golf technology you can find in a lot of old clubs. -I’m just like you guys, it’s usually more fun for me to try out the old stuff than the new stuff. New clubs don’t excite me like hitting some old wood or an old set of Mizuno’s to see what they do, and if anything really changed....usually not

It's always fun to hit clubs you've never hit before regardless of how old they are just to see how they perform 👍 The mental side of golf definitely matters more that how old the clubs are. I've actually found lately I can somewhat hit blades and other hard to hit clubs just because I let my guard down and don't over think it. I just assume I won't be able to hit it so I just let myself have fun and see what happens. -Ash

Zebra putter-yes!! Strangely enough, I dug my old one out about a month ago and did a rehab on it. New paint job, new grip. I used to rock that thing so well. Makes you wonder why you change things. Haven’t got out on the course yet to use it, but I’m putting better with it on the practice putting mat than I am with my current putter. Golf is weird...or maybe it’s the golfers that are weird! Good to see Pops out there!!

Despite working in an off course golf pro shop back in the day...I have never hit any Callaway irons except the originals. I didn't really like them...I found the sole of the clubs to be too bulky. I guess since I played blades for so long...I just couldn't get used to them.

I used to have a full set that my old folks bought me for Xmas in 1990 second hand from a local golf shop for £50.... had them for 7 months before I bought my first set of brand new Mizuno Astron G2 irons.... I keep an actual set of Persimmon woods on display in my office. They are the 1,3,4 and 5Ws. The driver is a Ben Hogan, the 3 and 5Ws are Jack Nicklaus signatures and the 4W is a MacGregor, which is a Nicklaus brand club. I tried hitting them a couple times just for old times sake but now they are just for displaying in the home office.

If still available, you should consider the Tony Pena Spalding set. Any Wilson, Ben Hogan, Titleist, Ping, and Spalding woods are worth purchasing. All but the Ping are persimmon--the Ping is maple.

I got inspired and managed to find a set of Wilson Dave Marr blades 2-9, golden bear sand wedge, a leather Wilson bag, Dunlop putter. Also found a Ben Hogan Apex 4, and Ben Hogan Medallion 5. The Savior 24 loft hybrid has been pretty interesting in the bag, other than needing to be regripped, the distance for me ranges from 150-175 on a good day. Thanks for inspiring me to get some clubs and start playing!

You're earlier today, normally its 11pm UK. Probably a better time for Europe as its when all the others over here post their vids. The plates on the wooden woods were to protect them I'd have thought. I once got given some of those Sam Sneads and a chunk of one of the pieces of wood was broken off the driver. I had 1, 3 & 5 and I passed them on to someone else when I got my first big driver. Another great vid, hope those Callaways do the job for Ashley

My uncle had those Reflex irons and sold them to my brother. The channel combined with the rear cavity was supposed to (if I remember right) increase the rebound of the face and give you more distance!

I had the Sam Snead woods but they weren’t persimmon they were laminated had a “strata-bloc” transfer on the toe! They were a very pale colour with a white insert/black roundel on the insert face. The original grips were really thin and the driver weighed 15 1/2 oz with the steel shaft!

Just a little FYI for future episodes... When it comes to actual wood woods, there are laminated woods and persimmon. The laminated woods (the cheaper ones) are the ones with layers glued together. The Persimmon woods are made from a single solid piece of hard wood. Better players used the solid piece drivers. Then, of course, Taylormade used “Pittsburgh Persimmon” but that’s something else all together. That Wilson 3 wood in the video looks laminated.

I enjoy the videos but you do need to brush up on your vintage stuff. I sometimes almost shout at the screen as you pass by some quality vintage stuff! You once passed over a set of Hogan Precision irons - holy grail stuff - look them up! And yes, these are laminate or "Strata Bloc" as Wilson called them and not persimmon. Zebra's rule! I still play one!

I still have a set of the Cadillac C-1 woods. The 5 wood and 3 wood are still in my bag, had to retire the driver in favor of a Ping G400 though. The technology is outdated but a solid strike on them feels amazing, and I've gotten so used to using them that I don't plan on replacing them any time soon.

The only thing it was missing was a lefty driver. So now I'm on the look out hitting every thrift store and good will I see to find a driver ! Thank you guys so much keep up the good content !

It would be crazy to void the season! Finish it whenever possible. Winter football is lame anyways.
