I got these in Australia in Oct 2020 after taking golf up again during COVID (I'm sure no one can relate). Didn't want to spend a fortune on clubs so thought this would be the perfect set to discover if I was serious about playing more. For reference, I just got my first ever handicap in March 202 and I'm off 20. When I got the clubs, I was still pretty crap at golf but the odd shot came off the club nicely. Now, more and more I'm hitting shots that feel like butter off the club face with a gentle swing. Could not be any happier. Note that hitting this driver does not guarantee to hit it straight. Lol. Far from it in my case. But the good ones have a nice ball flight and travel about 240-250 yards for me. I have no interest in upgrading clubs anytime in the near future because I thoroughly enjoy these. Good luck finding a set though! I got lucky that I purchased them from the Costco website when they weren't there the day before or the day after.

I never hit the Edge, but the Costco Callaway Xtreme iron and woods set they came out with around around 2013/2014 was really good, irons were great quality, they had True Temper Stiff shafts, and the hybrid and 3 wood was also really good in Stiff Flex.

I've got the green, little bit older set. Best way to describe them is maximise/minimise. They make the good in my game better and smooth out the bad just that little bit. Great buy.

I picked these clubs up last year after getting back into golf after 15 years away. I have been pretty impressed with them, although the shafts are a little short for me at 6'3". A little digging on the web and these Irons look exactly like the X2-Hots with an Edge badge. This leads me to believe these are X2's as I cannot imagine that Callaway would create a whole new set of dies for a 1 off set of clubs for a single customer. Though I could be wrong...

Have a set of Strata clubs that i got when I first began golfing a couple of years ago and finally bought a Callaway GBB Epic Star driver...head snapped off after 35ish drives at the range. REALLY contemplating getting these clubs and this review is fantastic!

I use Callaway 2016 Big Bertha irons 6-Aw, Callaway v series 5 wood, and a 3 and 4 Callaway RAZR HL hybrids. I love how they all feel.

These clubs are an awesome value and you did a great job reviewing them. Try pairing them with Kirkland wedges and balls and you have all the equipment that you need to play good golf, for less than half the price of high end equipment. I have taken the Edge drive to two separate professional fittings. I compare it to Mavrik and Sim2 and both times was told that I would see very little improvement in my game if I bought the new drivers (which cost as much as the full Edge set). I did get a new grip for my driver as I have large hands and hit drivers better with bigger grips.

I bought my Callaway Razr edge set in December of 2013, I used them for a few years but unfortunately couldn’t play for about six years because of physical health issues but I started back up about six months ago and I still love my clubs, back then they came with a driver, 3 and 5 woods, a hybrid, 5 through 9 irons, pitching wedge, sand wedge, and a putter. I was curious if these were considered decent clubs so I checked out your review, glad you like them. I think for the price they are a good bargain.

I'm going to grab a set for the sake of grabbing one lol. Never hurts to have a backup set for clubs etc. I think i might even sell the irons but keep the driver, wood, hybrid and putter. Try buying a driver, wood, hybrid and putter (an odyssey at that) for 600 bucks. I've also heard nothing but good things about the 3 wood aswell. Might put it in my actual bag.

I own the previous version of this set (the green ones), the shaft on the driver claims that it’s “regular” flex but it’s more of a “senior” flex and makes the whole driver preform like rubbish. The 3 wood head also feels extremely heavy at the end of its light shaft, combined with the same “regular” flex shaft as the driver it makes this wood really awkward to hit. Every other club in this set is amazing.

Great review. I think the most important factor here is that you have a very consistent swing. If you didn't, the results would be variable and there would not be a way to determine how much or how little that clubs contributed. Thanks for a very enlightening review.

Don’t fall into the pit of buying a bunch of unnecessary gear. Get yourself a decent set of new budget clubs or a good set of used clubs for a couple hundred bucks. Don’t buy nothing else until you actually really need it.

I had a high end set custom fit over 1800.00. Taken out of my car. I purchased the edge set in the mean time with the intent to hold me over until I could get another custom fit set. I found I played better with less effort. After I found that out, I have no need to shell out almost 2 grand again. The set is a flex weaker and irons a bit longer in length than my other set but all I did was grip down a half inch less and bam perfect. Mmm. Maybe I was miss fit into a stiffer shaft.

Have you done a reivew of the Strata set? I stopped playing golf for about 11 years and my clubs are definitely older and so am I. Looking for a nice set thats not a ton of money. Really something to just get out and enjoy golfing again with my youngest.

3 weeks ago I came, I saw (road trip video), I subbed. Called 4 stores every other day(helped to have item #). They got them in on Monday. Got mine on Tuesday. Your production/content is AWESOME!! I bought a set of Callaway X series OS irons at Dunham’s. $319. Much easier to hit than my $900 set. I’m sold! Love your show.
