I agree...plus, laundry in usually done once or twice a week. I say leave it there and use the space as a walk-in pantry closet. It would make a great space to store extra food and kitchen appliances.

and imagine that dryer running while trying to cook ! that space is going to get so hot ! i've had my washer leak, bounce around and scratch the floor .. the garage is the best bet. plus that little area could be turned into a mini library or prayer/meditation room (if you're in to that). somewhere nice and quiet you can sit and enjoy your coffee

What a beautiful house! Use the extra space for a coffee and liquor 'cafe'. You can have a bar cart with nice glass bottles for liquor on one side and on the other side a spot for cute coffee mugs. That way when you entertain, that can be the beverage area

Since you have a dog I know a lot of people who do a laundry and dog room combo. My one friend in particular has one of those huge double laundry wash basins and it has a regular faucet and a hose attached to it and she uses the one side to bathe her dog. The room is set up SOOO nice. She has shelves in there for her laundry stuff and then shelves above her dog's area to hold some of the stuff to wash her dog. I don't know if that's something you'd be a fan of doing, but I personally love the idea and would use it myself if I ever have a dog, so I thought I'd share it with you. Congratulations on the new home!

For the kitchen nook part if either you or Colton are big cookers you can just make it to a big pantry or a storage closet for stuff like lightbulbs, batteries,Piglets food amd toys etc.

I have a nook in my kitchen .. I decided to make it a little chill area ... I added a chair , nightstand ,a rug and magazines I think that would work out fine.. You could always make it a pantry or even add a small kitchen table to eat breakfast at ... I wouldn't want a lot of people in my dining room.

Just had a thought. If you close of the breakfast nook, you well lose all of the glorious natural lighting from those windows, which may darken the kitchen. It might be used as a second, more intimate conversation space or reading nook using a couple of chairs (or a 'chair and a half) with ottoman(s) and a simple table.

Your house is nice! Do not put your washer and dryer in the breakfast area. Your wood floors will be ruined. I have wood floors. Also, my water heater bursted three yrs ago. But my washer and dryer were in my garage. We took them out of the house and made the area where our dryer/washer our computer room.

Perhaps I am a little late in posting a suggestion for the nook area but here it goes. Leave the washer and dryer outside and add a portable window seat and a small table. Now if you are going to have kids, it will make an excellent play area for the little ones. Take care.

Seems like that would be a good use also you might want to rethink white for the living room since it is already a huge space white won't make the space pop, but warm will. That open space that you might make a laundry room, you can make it a window seat without any reconstriction. There are many thick fluffy benches that could fit in that space. And it could be use for mediation, reflection, writing, study, or just look out the window if the view is nice.

I hope I didn't offend you because I watch all of your videos and I've never seen any remodeling videos, home decor, etc... I just hate when gurus venture off from what they are known for. I love your hauls and tutorials because you give great advice. Another one of my fav gurus just had a baby now she only show baby clothes and talk about her breasts leaking!😧😕Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for you and her but she became so bad that I had to unsubscribe. I couldn't look at another baby outfit lol! Another guru is making videos about how to make coffee because she used to work at Starbucks! 😕 You are always on point with the makeup! I was born and raised in New York but my family is from Alabama so you're the top guru in my mind. New Yorkers tend to think people from the south are late when it comes to fashion and make up but you shut it down Ms. Nitra!!!! I miss your hauls and monthly favorites. You even got me to get the new Lancôme foundation and you didn't lie my friend! It's awesome!!! I bought one for home and one to keep in my purse. I would definitely enclose the breakfast nook and make it into a laundry room. I love my laundry room and I used to have my washer and dryer in our garage and hated it. We built the model of our house because I fell in love with the pantry, laundry room, kitchen and walk in closet. I love my house. You have the nice eat in bar and then you'll have the dining area. We use our eat in bar and dining are all the time. Congrats on the house!!

Loving the hardwood floors they are so beautifful! We purchased our home back in 2005 and originally there was wall to wall carpet. To my surprise my had the carpet removed and replace it with hardwood with exception of the bedrooms which I have to now have done. I wish he would have continued the hardwood in the bedrroom as well

Since you have a window their if that wall on the left opens onto the backyard porch you could add another window if it's not a load baring wall and have a second/extra eating area. Just an idea!!! Nitra, I would make it a tiny seating area, 2 fancy chairs/chaise & a coffee table for now. Maybe add a small chandelier. When you have babies you can turn it into a play area. That keeps all the toys in one place rather than scattered throughout the main living room. Once they're 5+ old, you can add some bean bag chairs & tv for the kids to hang out.
