For anyone who is unsure , you can go on the WHO ( world health organisation) website and check for proper mask use and hygiene . They shouldn't be worn around your chin like that when you are outdoors you should just take your mask off. X stay safe x

Warm water does help splinters, it opens the pores a warm flannel should help. You can get like a swim suit/body suit that has pockets around it and buoyancy floats in them to hold them upright and it's a bit safer than those little floater ones because of they did manage to tip face down it rolls them over.

For the splinter try removing it after he had spent time splashing around in the pool or ocean and it should be easier to remove!! You can also try suction. After swimming or a bath use a straw and try and suck it out of the foot but make sure to put a tissue or paper towel on your end so you don’t suck it into your mouth/lungs. If you have a bulb sucker like they use in the hospital or when they are sick or a Frieda baby snot sucker those may also work to use for suction. I would suggest only trying after being in the pool or bath. If he is a deep sleeper you can try and remove it while he is sleeping .
@susiephillips69164 жыл бұрын
Our 4 year old (now 5) wouldn’t let us touch his foot. We soaked it with warm water. When he was asleep we managed to get it out. It was either do it when he is asleep or take him to doctors as it was getting sore and red. Was fine the next morning :) hope you get it out soon xxx

To remove a splinter on the foot you mix some baking soda and water and put the paste on the foot. Wait a few minutes until the splinter pops out then pull out with tweezers. Wash the site with warm water then should be OK xx

Put jace in a bath if you have one for about 20 minutes and just wash his hair while you do it and make sure the waters slightly warm and it will ease out or after the bath you could try get it out but if you have no bath just put it in warm water for 10 minute every couple hours and it should come out x

For a splinter -You can apply ice wrapped in a thin cloth to the area for 2 minutes and then try again with tweezers! But if it is small it will come out over time but if your worried or concerned and if wee jace is concerned or noticing it then go to the pharmacy but they will more than likely try the same methods as you and I’m sure jace would rather you do it! But hope your having a lovely holiday so far!!

If the splinter is hanging out or has a small hole to get it out try the suction of a Medicine syringe , the other solution is to break the skin a little with a sewing needle if he’ll allow it
@LoretteHughes4 жыл бұрын
Use like a Calpol syringe.. put the top hole over the splinter and really fast pull the syringe up and it suctions the splinter out. It’s worked for my girls! Depends if it’s embedded tho. I’ve done it on myself but had to slightly break the skin as mine wasn’t exposed at all x

A trick I found out about and works for splinters is if you have a syringe that you get with calpol, put the syringe over the splinter and draw the syringe out (pull it as if you would putting medicine into it) and suck the wee splinter out... hope that makes sense. My wee ones have had splinters and I found it’s the least painful way to remove them xx

Hi Sarah, I’ve used a drawing ointment before for splinters...I think it’s called magnesium paste? Maybe ask the pharmacist about it. It’s so tricky with little ones because he won’t like anyone trying to pull it out, bless him. It should come out on its own eventually though ☺️

For jaces splinter, it really should work it's way out but u could soften the skin with warm water like if was to sit in a small pool with like bath water temp., then use a bank card along skin to try and free it. Failing that u could google poultice (some old school remedy lol) but I think maybe that only works if there is an infection not sure on a splinter.

Baking Soda Pulls up Splinters we have tried it before, Make a paste using one tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of water. Cover the skin around the splinter with the paste. Cover it up with a little sock at night or a plaster so it won't get all over the sheets. Hope this helps. That campsite is wonderful! I haven't camped since 1980's and they had an outhouse that was it. LOL!
