(Joe) We are in a period of transition where things are all up in the air. We took a leap of faith from our hometown all the way to the opposite coast. In transition, there will be uncertainty, confusion, misinformation, mistakes, pitfalls, and misfortune. It’s an uncomfortable setting that has caused a lot of stress and anxiety for us. Because of the rain which caused the Hanbok Walk to cancel, our wedding was postponed to a later date. Along with other delays concerning the house, we will need to find a temporary place to stay during the last phase of our homebuying. Often times, it’s easy to become discouraged when issues arise before a big expectation, but I think that these are the few times when it’s okay to “look back, or “ look down” to see how far we have came. I usually hear people use encouraging lingo like, “keep your head up” or, “just keep going.” But it’s encouraging for me to look back at how far out I was and look at how far down I was pulled up. It’s so encouraging to me, because it brings me the realization of knowing that the transition is en route to the next blessing! The illusion is the assumption of believing that the mishaps will never end, but just like any gift that must be opened carefully, there will be steps and layers to pay attention to in order for the treasure inside to not to be tainted. God, thank you for the discomfort and I am in the middle of you unveiling your blessing.
Joshua 1:9 ESV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
