Over the course of the last year Matt became friendly with a gentleman in Denver, Co that has one of the craziest Olds Rocket collection we have ever seen. Lonnie started building a 1930/31 Ford Model A Roadster that was powered by an Olds 324 in the mid 1970s and continued to change and upgrade the roadster from a mild 324 to a blown 394 with 8 Strombergs. Matt purchased a set of Weiand valve covers from Lonnie, and was working on purchasing a few more parts to upgrade the Schroll car when Lonnie's health unfortunately declined and he passed away. Lonnie's son and good friend reached out to Matt a few months ago about buying the few parts Lonnie set aside for him and Matt worked out a deal for all the left over parts! Lonnie kept just about every part he pulled off the Roadster, including a spare engine with a 471 blower! Lonnie's Wife and Son also sit down to talk about Lonnie's hot rod and obsession with Olds Rockets!!!

The process of acquiring such items from a family requires a delicate touch and tremendous show of respect. I've been in that position on both sides. Kudos to you, Matt. Lonnie's family is well pleased to have you become caretaker and broker of his collection.

Hey Matt, I do believe that you've done the man proud in the making of his story. From him growing up around his father's work, to him being called home to our Father up in Heaven. His wife and son sure loved him, you feel it as they talk about him. I'm going to say that this is your best video, where you interview the family of an older gentleman that was a Hot Rodder, through and through. Very, very good video Matt. I was pulled in, listening very closely as his wife was talking about her husband, and while his son talked and laughed about his father. At times, I was welling up inside, feeling their love and their loss. Great show Matt, thank you for doing this for his family, for us, and of course, for yourself. Another great memory goes into the archives of, the now famous and fabulous, internationaly known, world renowned, drum roll please..... .. "Iron Trap Garage"! Thanks Matt, hope that you and the family have a great day today. I mean the same to Mike and the guys too, I hope y'all know that.

@@IronTrapGarage , I agree. Everyone here at my home loved the video. The older generation of true Hot Rodders are few and far between nowadays and you did the world a great service by making this little snippet of his life. You should be proud of what you've done. Again, I am going to say Thank you Matt, for such a touching story. Later Brother ✌️

Now we're talkin' Gene Adams style 4 pipe headers!! Several sets!!! That's the only way to go. Engle Cams were the real deal. I tried most all others in my '50 Oldsmobiles. Did I see a B&M Hydro Stick there? Had one and you'll never go back to a stick behind an Olds again. Just check out Gene Adams and Stone Woods and Cook gassers. I watched them all most every weekend at Lions. The Oldsmobile plant would be South Gate. The dealership that sponsored Adams and others was Albertson Oldsmobile in Culver City. Now that you've heard that beautiful monster imagine SW&C 472" engine. You hit the jackpot Grasshopper use it wisely.
