The Post Office used to use a similar style truck for delivery mail. It was painted blue from the belt line down with a red stripe running the belt line and white from the red stripe up. Brings back memories like the milk delivery trucks and another all time favorite truck kids would love and that was the Good Humor Chevy ice cream truck with the built on freezer where the bed would sit. They just don’t build them like those anymore.

I knew Studebaker made these but I had no idea Jeep did as well. And that's a stubby little sucker. Boy, talk about something special. I'm with you - all the beautiful cars we see at car shows are impressive but something that unusual is truly special indeed. Love it! I wouldn't LS swap it - EVERYthing has an LS in it. I'd keep it original and maybe put a DJ sound system in it for playing tunes at car shows.

Used to own one I bought at a Post Office auction for $210 but was in far better shape than yours since the P.O. painted it before the sale (they had approx 20) . . . the coolest thing about it was it is designed to be driven standing as well as sitting so the postman can exit quickly when making a delivery . . . the seat flips back and the accelerator pedal is designed to move sideways with your foot while standing . . . flathead 4-cyl so the valves are in the block not the head

I am thinking of importing a cool project like this from the US and build my girlfriend a shop van. She may be able to sell coffee out of it, what's the interior height of this model?

in my case i would keep it original and go back to original colors that it was. i would have the engine 100% original and perfect all numbers matching and everything.
