Star Dust It was actually the previous visit that we wanted to discuss. (And I do have it on video.) Juliette and I had gone there before one of our shopping trips and waited 45 - 60 mins for our food. Our server had a full dining room and when I asked her about why she didn’t have help-it was because she liked the tips. But then she was forgetting stuff because she was so busy. And Juliette didn’t get anything to drink for about 25 minutes and she forgot my drink altogether. Now Juliette-my five year old-doesn’t want to go back. You know it’s bad when a five-year old notices the slow service and refuses to go back. So we just wanted to mention the experience to the manager and the hostess told us we couldn’t speak with the manager(s). It was very strange. If the hostess hadn’t been the way she had, we would probably still spend our money there every week.
@caryulmer55785 жыл бұрын
Crazy Lamp Lady I had a crazy restaurant experience too. My husband & I always went to a nearby Sushi restaurant, usually a couple of times a week. It always seemed like a nice place. One night we ordered, waited 45 minutes for the food & was told as soon as it was served they were closing early so we needed to be finished in 5 minutes. (Seriously, 5 minutes.) There were no signs saying they were closing early. We quickly ate as much as we could then got ready to leave to accommodate this. My husband mentioned to the waiter it would have been better if he had told us before serving us, but the waiter just shrugged. When we paid, my husband was not upset but thought he'd also mention it to the manager so asked to speak to him. After a fairly long wait he came out to talk to him. English was a second language for all the staff & the manager seemed to have the most difficult time with this (he had not said anything in English by that point) so my husband very politely asked if he spoke english. The manager got angry, said something in Japanese to the waiter who told us the manager said to tell us not to come back 😂😂😂 I never let my husband live it down that he also got me banned when I hadn't said a word. The restaurant closed permanently soon after that so we assume my husband's question wasn't what really upset the manager.

At around 11:50-the whole discussion between you and Sue regarding the green mid-century pitcher and glasses had me nearly rolling on the floor dying with laughter! I just have to give you my personal insight regarding this. I come from a really huge family-10 kids in ours and 7 kids on my Aunt’s side (my Dad’s sister). So my grandparents had 2 children and ended up with 17 grandchildren. Every year my Aunt has a huge summer party for her Dad’s ( my grandfathers) birthday. It was lovely but it was a ton of work, as you can imagine. The grandkids could eat off paper plates and drink out of paper cups, but the grown ups would sit at my Aunt’s incredibly ginormous dining room table and eat off of proper plates and glasses. Well, my Aunt had a set just like this green one. It went perfect with the orange shag carpet. Hey, this was the 70’s-it was groovy! I was the “official” beverage steward-my job was to fill up all the water glasses in the kitchen, carry them to the dining room two by two and carefully place them on the table. Then once or twice during the grown up meal I would walk around with the small green pitcher and refill the water glasses. I was really little and this made me so happy! I felt so big and important! And I got praise and compliments from all the grown ups without any competition from siblings or grown ups. So basically what I am saying is I believe the green pitcher is meant for refilling ones beverage-it is not supposed to be the “primary source”. At least that is how we used to do it. Because otherwise little- kiddie slave-labor-starved-for-adult-attention-and -compliments would slosh water or iced tea all over the nice tablecloth if one were filling up glasses already set on the table! My relatives used to kindly grab their short green glasses and hold them out while I two handed held onto the green pitcher.and refilled their water glasses. Wow-this really brought back memories! I don’t know whatever happened to that set-maybe this is it!
@karengates39465 жыл бұрын
Solution for the undersized pitcher...you put them all on a tray and fill the glasses and the pitcher in the kitchen, then deliver to the dining room...the pitcher is for 'refills'? Could work...

Always fun with you and Sue, especially when you find so many goodies. Looking forward to your haul video tomorrow, 'cause I love all the stuff and the info you share. Sorry you had such unpleasantness at lunch, voting with your feet is the best choice sometimes. I wish I knew your area so as to suggest a better eatery, but since I don't, I'll just wish you luck with that, because good places to eat are getting harder and harder to find. ...When my Sis was visiting a few weeks ago, we went out to lunch at a local fast food joint, where the food was good. We usually just go through the drive through, but because my Sis and her hubby were along, they wanted to go inside to eat. The place was not clean, it had ants crawling all over everything, and the server who came out and served the food had fingernails so filthy he looked like he also had a part time job as a grease monkey auto-mechanic. When I spoke up about the ants, a guy came out of the kitchen with a broom, swept up a pile of the ants that were heaped up on some food on the floor, took them into the kitchen, and dumped them into an open garbage can that was sitting right next to where the french fries were being cooked and set out. I was so glad I wasn't eating that day, tho everybody else in our party was. They didn't get ill from eating there, which was a real shocker. I don't know what has become of good service these days or the local health inspector?! I know one thing for sure, I will never eat there ever! I hope you have a great day!
