This week we hit up one of our favourite estuary systems on the Southern NSW Coast. As the tittle suggests, we did some catastrophic damage to our tinny (our fault) but the amazing team at SeaJay boats got us back on the water in no time. We catch some tasty flathead and find a sick little spot to camp on the side of the river.
Worth watching if you like taking your tinny to some rough and remote places as we explain all the mistakes we made that lead to some significant damage to our beloved tinny.
Thanks for watching!!

Another great video you two. I have to say a few things I have watched most of your videos and I was thinking, wow they are giving the trailer a good work out. Yes, not designed for the work out you were using it for. In saying the above Points, my hat is off to you for sharing what you have learnt. This is why I think I enjoy your videos. Straight up without all the bling. Keep them coming. Looking forward to seeing the new rig.

Lovely Ep and area and fish and tinny guys, And good on SeaJay for heaping you out, As most Tinnies will crack over time when you take them up north all my mates with alloy tinnies had to get them welded up with more bracing its just how they are, Our 5m tinny has been fully welded up twice in 11 years and the last time a few years ago. I braced it up heaps more to handle where I take it and what I do to it,

Hi, l could not agree more about Seajay as a boat manufacturer, I brought a secondhand less than 12months old 3.85 Seajay and found it was cracked badly up at the nose, the dealer and Seajay checked it and decided to totally replace the hull and transfer everything over to the new hull free of charge

I plan to buy track about camper and CJ nomad to go on the roof same as you’ve done. I’m not sure how we’re supposed to tie it down going on your comments about breaking the Welds because the way you tied them down. And thanks for Video

Nice one! Have a look on the Trackabout Owners page on Facebook, there's some great info there. If we had our time again with the camper and tinny I would still strap it all down the same. I think most of the damage occurred to ours from the folding trailer and the roads we used it on. My advice is to try to not use any straps on a folding trailer and not go very far with it.

If ya get spiked from flatties. Rub the spiked area on the flatties under belly. The slime neutralises the pain. Just don't get a second spike. 😂😂😂. Let me know if it works. 😊

Hey James. How did they suggest that you hold the boat to the trailer if not a strap over it? I have the same boat.
@jamesnjacqdriftin
@jamesnjacqdriftin 2 ай бұрын
Hey Stuart, the boat needs to be able to flex and move as the trailer has so much movement in it. They recommended some straps on either side of the outboard but not to tight. When ever we went on rough roads I always cranked all my straps as tight as possible which prevented the boat from being able to move around with the trailer movement

The problem is we don't know if Seajay favours influencers when dealing with issues...

Certainly a valid point, but we are a very small channel just starting out and SeaJay didn’t know who we were or what we did when we got in contact with our issues. Thanks for considering us as influences though, maybe one day 😂

I’m pretty happy with how the situation played out (just my opinion). From my understanding the other major tinny brands would have put this damage down to wear and tear (as our insurance did) and we would have ended up boat less. I’m sure that there will be lots of different options on this but I’m really glad we got the Seajay and grateful they helped us out. Thanks for watching !

Definitely excellent how they handled it, but it should never of happened in the first place. Not sure about the other big brands putting it down as wear & tear, never seen that as I've never seen a dingy fall apart like that, it must of been embarrassing for seajay It's great you got it sorted and they did the right thing
