Genuine. That's refreshing. Breakups and losses are hard. I am someone who needs my space, too. You've heard the saying that people come into our lives for "a reason, a season, or a lifetime". I believe that to be true. Life is about growing and learning how to give and receive love unconditionally and each relationship is a big part of that. What helps me heal the most is to be grateful for that relationship, count the blessings, and ask inwardly... what can I learn from it? Not all of us are blessed with a lifetime relationship... we just have a different journey. It takes wisdom and a lot of emotional maturity to know when the "reason" or "season" has come to an end and move on. Respect for the way you are handling it!

Hope you are doing well Brian; appreciate the update. Over the years, I've come to realize that everyone in my life has a meeting and departure. From meeting my mom at birth and whoever(If any) are there at my death. I still struggle with separating from those I care for. Intellectually I know that departing always happens, but emotionally it's a struggle. Over the decades, i've gotten used to the struggle. One way I cope after separation is to look at how this person impacted my life and perhaps how I impacted theirs. With hopefully more positive than negative on both sides. Honestly, I've not always been a strong positive with others. It's something I've been working on....
