As a game designer who doesn't know how to use blueprint or code, this is something that perhaps can finally allow my creativity and knowledge to flow through to the Unreal Engine without a programmer. (I can't remember how many times people simply tell me to just learn how to code)

Because you have to learn how to code. This isn't something people just say because it's a meme. In order to make games that don't play like asset flips in the engine you have to dive into c++ and blueprinting at some point. Even materials are made with blueprints.

This type of stuff is for more advanced users. If you want to be lazy and just wanna right prompts to make video games you gotta wait at least 3 more years and when the time comes people will be so farther from you so you still wouldn't want to learn whatever they know. So this is a loop.

Nice. Looks like 90% of the demo was just going to places. But can Flightdeck be used to troubleshoot Unreal Engine? If for example my camera is moving from a close up shot of a person in a forest, and backs up to a very wide aerial view of the forest, and my trees are disappearing in proportion to my camera distance, can Flightdeck be used to troubleshoot that? Or other things?

That’s a great question. We have some upcoming features that are based around this. Think Clippy, but for UE 😂. We have a discord for FlightDeck and would really love any more feedback that you have for features etc!

Curious - how far away is Flightdeck from being able to capture a location and create geometry within the Engine? i.e. I go to my house on Google maps, and want to have a rough 3D model in Unreal that I can then walk around and look at and evolve further.

That’s cool but seriously it will take me few mins not weeks to do the same thing you just did with more control over the sky and lights overall. It’s fairly simple and tbh relying on such tool won’t get you far in the industry just my 2 cents

Totally fair. We made this tool for people with less experience in UE5. At the end of the day, if you have a better understanding of 3D software and workflows, you'll be better at it. Hope you still try it out! Thanks for the feedback.

It said something about not being able to work on openai 1.0 that it would have to be openai .28
