We (4 of us) have some of these, in fact we purchased the Easy Survival RPG asset from the creator of the Easy Buidling System. When we find free assets and we like them, if the creator has some assets for sale, we will pitch in together and buy from them. All four (4) of us are watching this video together. 👍👍👍👍

@MeaganEater that’s amazing to hear. Are you and indie game dev group?
@MeaganEater8 ай бұрын
@@kibibytecompany Yes, Four indie Game Devs living together. If you want the long version, read further. If you just want what to know what we are currently up to, skip down to the bottom below ************** Our story is not quite what most people tell. We are a family of four adults. When the kids were young, I homeschooled them up to High School here in Florida. In Florida when homeschooling, they (Public School Board) have you sign your kids out of public school, and they hand you a list of teachers you can pay to test your children. They clearly inform you that You Are On Your Own. You Are The Faculty, You Are the Teacher, You Are The Coach. This means you build or buy the curriculum each year for your children and then once a year you hire a certified teacher to test them to see if they show improvement. After 12th Grade you get a letter stating that child completed 12 years of education and showed improvement each year. No Diploma or Certificate and no Ceremony. I went Dumpster Diving for Tech and found computers in the trash, alongside the roads and behind offices where they throw them out as trash. I went to the Public Library and checked out books on Computer Repair, Computer Building and Operating Systems. I used these to teach Tech Science to the Kids. We purchased each of them one book for the rest of their subjects (math, reading, writing, English & history) lessons. They schooled 3 hours a day 365 days a year. Extra learning was in their own time. When they were in about 3rd, 4th & 6th grade, we built a computer for each person in our home, and we started learning programming and game development as part of the advanced Science studies. We also purchased 5 accounts for online gaming from that time on until after they graduated college. So, they grew up learning computer building & repair, programming, game development, beta testing for Star Wars Galaxies as well as monthly gaming with City of Heroes, Champions Online & Anarchy Online as part of their education. When we tested them, they always showed at or above grade level improvement. This is because I made a deal with them, I home school the oldest one, she home schooled the one under her and he home schools the one under him. I would do spelling and definition drills with all three of them. I called it, Say It, Spell It, Say It. They could give a definition or sentence using the word properly if they wanted to skip saying the word twice. They all earn extra gaming time by watching Documentaries or Historically based Movies. After watching we would discuss what they learned, and they gain 15 more minutes for their own private gaming time. They could watch as many as they wanted to gain as many 15 minutes more for gaming. When we had them tested to go back public school in High School, the oldest child tested at a college sophomore level and the two others tested at High School levels. They invited their mother to go to college with them and so they all earned two degrees each in three years. Majoring in Business, Programming, Ethical Hacking, Minoring in Foreign Languages (Spanish and Chinese), Art or Eco Systems (Geology, Geography, Biology). All this was from a conversation with them as children, that if they wanted, they could focus on skills and when they graduate from college, I would help them start their own Tech related Company. Of course, they wanted it to be an Indie Development Company revolving around Edutainment Games and World Languages. We recently purchased 1 year of professional hosting and two domains. This is after $10,000 in hardware and assets, and a few years of learning new advanced game development on Unity and Unreal and Blender, but we recently decided to also work with GODOT as we can take GODOT and make our own Game Engine. We are also taking a Distro of Linux and making our own OS with our own Game Engine and our own version of Blender incorporated into the OS. This way we own what we work on and what we produce. Mom Business Art Geography & Geology Korean language Daughter Business Programming (C#++, C#) Spanish & Chinese Art, Crafting, Sewing Biology Son 1 Programming Ethical Hacking Networking Spanish & Chinese A+, MCDST & MCP, OSHA Certifications Son 2 Programming Programming Languages (C++, C#, Python, JAVA, JS, Advanced Mathematics Networking Spanish & Chinese A+ & OSHA Certifications Myself (age 58) 9th grade dropout, self-educated. Most jobs I worked two or more years. Most years I worked two or more jobs at the same time. I stopped working to home school the children until they got back in at High school level. So, I do also have MR.Mom skills as I done most of the cooking also and accounting. My wife got the single career. Sorry if I wrote to much. I could have pointed you to our website, but it is not up yet. Just thought if you wanted to know, this is how we became Indie Game Devs. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * In case anyone is wondering... as some will read this. We are currently doing daily, "Build A Game Template - 1 Hour?" drills. Where each person builds a video game template in one (1) hour. 9 2D Categories 22 3D Categories Game templates that get approved by all four of us, will be refined (by all four of us) and saved as Starter Templates. These are for future Rapid Game Buildout Competitions. "What Game Can We Build - 1 Week" and "What Games Can We Combine - 1 Week". Combining games makes for a larger more interactive game. All this will be on our website when we get it up. Should be this month, but we are moving soon, so moving may take a priority on some days. Need more room for Video and Music Studio. Computer Lab is crowded. In a couple years we should be in our permanent Studio on 5 acres or forest lands, 70miles out of town. 5 acres is 20,681 meters2 for Metric people.

@kibibytecompany11 ай бұрын
Hey. There are plenty of different systems for importing fbx meshes at runtime. I personally like the „Real Time Import/Export“ Plugin. I don’t know about the saving part though. It could work just with the SaveGame system but I am not sure. If that doesn’t work another option would be to create a copy of every imported mesh and save it to some file using some free file handling plugin. That file then could be accessed again as you know the save destination.

If you think about it, anything is recreatable in a time span of 1 day to like 3 weeks. The question is: do you actually want to recreate it? If you just quickly want to envision your thoughts, then personally I do not want to waste my time figuring out the calculations for orbiting for example (even though the calculations for that are fairly easy). Also, if your game consists of plenty of different systems it can make a huge time difference if you do everything yourself or if you help yourself with this or that asset. The video game market is very competitive… If you aren’t that familiar with unreal engine, then buying blueprint packs might be a good way of learning the engine. If you are an expert then blueprint packs help you save time. And if there is something about a blueprint pack you don’t like you can always just go along and tweak those things. As a summary: I think of blueprint packs like a freelancer that does a thing you don’t want to do or that you can’t do.

@@kibibytecompany So don't get me wrong this video is really nice. But to be honest it's very misleading. In reality you have no idea if the products you are recommending are even worth the money. In addition there may be superior packs that you haven't recommended simply because you didn't purchase them.
@kibibytecompany8 ай бұрын
@morganmcmillin2735 For products that are similar I compare the features and how advanced a system is. The more advanced and polished, the better. I am not selecting products based on the price. There could be cheaper products available that is similar to a product mentioned in the video but which definitely is not better. I am using Unreal Engine for 7+ years now, therefore I know a huge amount of products due to friends who own them, me buying them or getting them provided by the developer. From past experiences I know how plenty of developers work so their products won’t get included at all. I would say I know 70 of those 100 products shown in this video very good and filled the rest up with other good looking ones. So I wouldn’t say this video is misleading. I could have changed the very first sentence like in my other video about plugins
