If you’re keeping Mike as one of the Rainbow Trout the other has to be Ike! Can't wait to see Mike & Ike’s life in your incredible pond, such an inspiring project hope to have something half as nice in my yard one day. Keep up the great work, much love from Wisconsin

Congratulations on 1 MIllion Subscribers. I can't believe it's not at least 10 Million by now. Your Content, Editing and Voice Over are all First Class. The Pond Build has been an absolute pleasure to watch. I have not missed an Episode. I came in late, but watched every single episode from start up to this one I am watching now. Then all of the wildlife that turns up is like a Massive Cherry on top. Oh then you also add the viewer interaction. You not only give us all Awesome Videos to watch you make us truly feel as though we are apart of it ourselves by letting everyone suggest the names of all your Animals and Pet Fish. Thank you so much for everything. Cheers from George in Adelaide, South Austtralia.

Agree, you do a great job of combining a lot of different traits including engineering, landscaping, fishing, wildlife and do so by integrating the viewers, listening to experts whine bringing in your own experience. Keep up the great work! Getting from Frankfurt, Germany. P.S. I think 10mio subs would be possibly but probably with more professionally produced, high paced, less regular, high impact content. But I don't think I would like that too much. Better have 1mio subs that enjoy very frequent extensive videos than 10mio drop-byers.

Mike and Ike for the trout maybe? Congrats on 1M. Came across this channel by chance and loved the idea of building a little ecosystem on your property. It's great to see that while the original goal was to get big bass, it turned into something that supports all the wildlife nearby as well.

This series is very eye opening and a wonderful study for those interested in the ins and outs of pond building ,stocking and maintenance.Those of us who accidentally tripped over you and found ourselves transfixed, are delighted with the vistas you open for us .I viewed the build from the time you were moving tons of ground about the place ,and clogging up the bottom with truck loads of clay . Such a huge undertaking certainly captured my attention and has certainly held it.

If you ever have time. Looks like the eagle could use something round to perch on. Something their talons can wrap around instead on sliding on the 1x4’s and only gripping their edge. A 1” dowels raised 4-6” off the platform around the perimeter like a miniature railing might help him find a good spot. Maybe even provide enough structure for them to feel comfortable building a nest. Thanks for the great footage
@Loganmporter Жыл бұрын
Also, just a suggestion and I really think it’s a good idea. I think you guys should place the flat part of logs cut in half the long way on the top of the eagle tower. Most eagles are on a bigger limb and it would allow more of a comfortable place to rest on. You can see how the eagle doesn’t really know where to perch up because it’s flat on top.

Steven I would be honored if you could name a bass after my departed best friend, my weimaraner named "CYLIS". He was always by my side for 13 years. Saving my life keeping me going through depression and ptsd. He was an avid outdoors dog fishing, hiking, and always up for adventures. He loved going out on the boat too. Congratulations on the 1 million subsidies. I been watching since before the back yard pond. I remember the video where you wife caught the most aggressive bass in the world. The reason I love your work is I feel the understanding, respect, and curiosity for all the living things at crimson oak pond. Its so much more then big game fishing and hunting. With incredible gradetude and hopefulness. Thank you Logan Please use the unnamed C on the 4th page for my dog Cylis!

The green algae is likely due to high phosphate levels, especially with it being around farm land, you have little control over run in from flooding, rain etc. so its likely something your going to have to put up with, as others have said it would give extra foods for invertebrates and great cover for younger fish, and for the bass to hide/hunt. Loving your videos and look forward to the updates
@pauljs75 Жыл бұрын
What goes in the fishes comes out as part of the nutrient cycle. There seems to be a lack of various aquatic plants, so the algae is given a free-for-all because it has nothing else to compete with. Since wind and migrating birds haven't brought in much yet, it'd make sense to have plantings or seed areas of the pond to speed it up. Just like the fish didn't make it there on their own. That would also clear the water, and give the fish some more hiding and foraging areas.
@Hoodedcrow369 Жыл бұрын
@@pauljs75 I agree, phosphate is a little harder to control as it can depend on water quality and in this case water spilling coming from surrounding areas, as if you have an already high phosphate level then you add in the biload algae will love you for it. I do agree though more plant diversity would assist with the nutritional balance of the pond. I'm not sure how it would effect the clay lining though, which is why I'm guessing there aren't many plants planted around the banks.

WOOOOO 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 good shit dude you deserve it all, you are a super smart dude when it comes to everything, there’s so much that goes into building a pond and especially a healthy trophy bass pond like yours. It’s really hard I’ve had two ponds before and both of them were so hard to keep up on the feeding of the bass and the bass overproduced for the size of the ponds. They were all skinny and unhealthy. Also I didn’t have much money at the time so I couldn’t afford live shad and all that stuff. You nailed it tho man, I’ve watched every single minute of every single video on your channel

Just wanted to add this bit of information... "String algae isn't necessarily bad. In fact, it helps keep your pond ecosystem balanced by removing nitrates and phosphates from the water. It also provides a snack for fish and other aquatic life. String algae outbreaks come and go throughout the year, and they're usually not anything to worry about." Think of it as free food. Also as your plants grow in the pond and filter the water less algae will grow for lack of nutrients. Also when in nature and you find string algae growing around springs hanging from rock cliffs you know the water is safe to drink it filters out the dirt and usually doesn't need boiled before drinking. Although boiling does add more protection drinking it. You might consider adding snails if you haven't already and to do that would depend on your area as to the best kind to use. Fish will eat them so more free food as they reproduce. If bass can eat crawdads they can and will eat snails.

@@RogueStatusX For the past 10 years I have been drinking water straight from the earth out in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. While your fear does result in near guarantee for safe water, it is also clearly quite overblown. One can safely drink water, in nature, with an understanding for how to identify it as safe.
@PRINCESSDREAMYLYN Жыл бұрын
@@RogueStatusX i been drinking from springs, streams and rivers from sources i know to be just fine, at 50+ years I'm still here and very much alive and I've never gotten sick from drinking non boiled water. Apparently some, like you, do not know the difference. I bet someone like you if in the desert would just drink anything that looked like water, not consider the fact there are cyanide pools they look like water but are deadly to drink from boiled or not. I would never suggest to anyone to drink water or anything that looks like water they weren't sure about. However that being said boil before you drink when you are unsure or worried about getting sick. You do your own research and due diligence, after all it's your life that matters.

never commented but appreciate the videos. Suggestion: reduce size of flooring wherein eagles can use claws to grasp and hold on. Right now, there is nothing for them to lock their claws because flooring is too wide, and they will not stay due to no locked footing. Birds have tendons wherein they can lock down even in windy weather; however, branches or wood has to be small enough for claws to grasp.
