A lot of folks have been commenting that Ezra needs a dog playmate and that we should get another dog. Choosing to bring a new dog into your family is not a willy nilly decision to be taken lightly. There is a lot to consider, all of which I talk about in this video I made after we got Ezra: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGGkhpmvpLWobJY Although we’ve taken Nova outdoors - and plan to do so with Conan too - the majority of their lives will still be spent indoors, which is why it’s important that they have each other to play with and keep each other company. Ezra on the other hand is a dog - a man’s best friend. His physical stimulation and play comes from being outdoors with us - hiking trails, playing fetch, and meeting other dogs at the dog park. We don’t show this as much in our videos because it’s just part of our daily routine and feels repetitive to include. Ezra is pretty socially awkward when it comes to making friends - he comes on very strong. He’s a beta who likes to act like an alpha, and he’s not nice to puppies - he doesn’t like their energy and licking. But he also gets nervous and anxious with an alpha dog, and can’t hold his own because he wouldn’t actually hurt anything. This exact scenario happened with my mom’s Bichon Frise - Ezra was mean to him when he was a puppy, and once he grew older and started snapping at Ezra (over Ezra’s own toys), Ezra was uncomfortable around him in his own home when we dog sat. Ezra is much more of a people dog, than a dog’s dog - if you have a dog, you will understand. If we were to bring another dog into the family, there is a lot to consider now with all the different personalities. We would want to adopt a dog who is close to Ezra’s age, and of course they’d also have to be good with cats. But we also aren’t at a point in our lives right now where it’s realistic for us to bring another dog in. Roman and I have previously decided that if we were to get another dog, it wouldn’t be until we own a house with a yard. We’re so glad that sharing our pets and our lives brings you happiness and entertainment, but we are not in the business of acquiring pets for KZbin videos. We bring in pets to be part of our family who fit in with our lifestyle, and we choose to share the joy they bring us with all of you. It is a lifetime investment when you bring an animal into your home, so we make that decision with a lot of thought and consideration. We always appreciate your concern and know that you also want to see Ezra, Nova, and Conan thrive - but trust that as their parents we know the intricacies of their personalities and ultimately what’s best for them and our family. I love Ezra, he is an adorable and sweet doggy🐶 Now with a new member in your family, an other cat, he may feel disturbed, because Nova is very strong. Conan is still a baby and Nova is showing him that she is the Alpha cat. She is nice playing and giving Conan a love bite and suddenly it's a real bite. I live with cats 50 years, and l adore felines, also dogs💖💋 and our cats are sweet and adorables little bandits. Don't forget that Ezra is alone against between two cats🐶🐺🐾💖💋

I love what you did for your cats. We had 3 BR apt. 40 years ago & I turned 1 BR into our cat playground. I built what I call a kitty condo with 3-40 boxes taped together. Our black cat Boo brought in at Christmas his friends. Before I knew it we had a zoo like setting with cats living and around our apt. Love and enjoy them everyday. It is worth it. Shalom

The dynamics of introducing two cats of different ages are fascinating. I adopted a female rescue kitty about 2 1/2 years ago -- super smart cat. But at about 2 YOA, I decided it was time for her to have some cat-generated enrichment and I adopted an almost 6 month old male. I set up physical (but not visual) isolation for a week or so and watched how they got familiar, and began working out the rules. 6 months along (her 3rd birthday was May 1) he is bigger and stronger, but she remains the Alpha kitty. She "rules" with a light touch and together they are an amazing pair (2 black cats). Unlike litter mates which come into the partnership by - well - being litter mates, cats introduced at different life stages, and where one is already established, is a whole different thing.

Those elevated cat lofts could connect around the room so the cats move along them at a hight from place to place. They are so cute when they play. I think both cats will interact with the dog when they feel more comfortable. The dog is definitely feeling more dominant and wants to show that he is more of a boss….

First of all, I love almost everything about your videos. Your videos are very well made and very entertaining! Thanks for that! But can I give you a quick warning, because I saw your Abyssinian kitten Conan playing with that earplug. Every year, dogs in particular, but also cats, end up in the emergency room because they ingest and/or eat something that they should not eat. This can lead to very dangerous obstructions in their intestines that in many cases need to be resolved with very costly and dangerous surgery. As a general rule of thumb; please be careful with any object or toy that is smaller than your cat and/or dog's mouth. And also be careful with plastic that they sometimes chew on. I have assisted a veterinarian during an internship and I have seen that both cats and dogs have had serious problems because they eat something simple, such as a rubber band, a toy or something else. For the rest, please keep up these fantastic videos and I'm very happy to see that the relationship between Nova and Conan continues to develop so positively. Hopefully, with time, Conan will also learn how to interact and play with Ezra.

​@@crimejunkie1 It was just an observation and a friendly reminder. Also for other viewers that could read this comment. Unfortunately there are still to many people that are unaware of these dangers and a little bit of education goes a long way to prevent these kind of accidents. Personally I had a rabbit that liked to sneakily chew on cables and after he bit trough our telephone line (luckily a low voltage corded telephone line when we still had those) -> I then immediately rabbit proofed al the cables in the whole house even in rooms where he normally could not go in. {just to make sure} If that would have been a high voltage wire that could have been fatal. Dogs do chew on cables also sometimes -> Especially young puppy's!

Ezra will adjust and love his 2 cat siblings/ cats are independent/ another dog would mean 16 different inter-relationships, not just 3; you might wish you lived in 5000 sq ft house before you consider getting another pup 😂. Ezra will adapt. He loves his family.
