Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today Kosmo and I are going to listen to the comments and build a hanging bridge between our two trees! We constantly are told to make this bridge happen and although we think it is going to be a lag machine we've finally given in and are making a proper bridge to quickly travel between the two! @darealkosmo

It does make a difference and you can see it, fairly easily depending on the person and if they are used to lower or higher refresh rates. And even assuming it was true you couldn't see above 60, which again, it isn't. You would still have a better experience because the position on screen when you do see it would be more accurate to your last input.

well no not exactly, your vision doesn't really have a refresh rate or a shutter speed, your eyes take in as much light as they can all at once, it's your brain that sorta caps out as you can only process that visual information so quickly and the quicker something happens the less time you have to process it and the more negligible the difference becomes, how fast a brain can process stuff is up to the person

I love how excited y'all got when the bridge actually worked without blowing up the world in terms of lag! In an effort to save some frames , you could redo the bridge but with half as many bearings, so twice as long wood plank sections.

For a multiple episode project: build a monorail or normal rail system in the sky that has stations on the ground to transport crops to packaging stations and packaging stations to the trader. Then finish it off by looping it around from the trader to the farm. 1st Carriage controls, 2nd carriage chests for crops, 3+ carriages for crates and/or caged farmers Edit: I posted this comment before this: 22:30

To help with lag if it gets bad you could make the bridge a separate creation from the tree houses by just directly connecting it to the tree. I think that would help that is what I had to do.

You and Kosmo oughta start a new series where you go around and visit other people's multiplayer Survival worlds. Tour their bases, check out their vehicles, offer suggestions, fix inefficient logic implementations, etc. Like, MTV Cribs and/or Kitchen Nightmares...but Survival multiplayer. Would watch. :D

You can always go through and pick up blocks periodically on the sides, it would look like there are more slats than there are, without using more bearings, and reducing the weight.

Thinking about the feeding necessity of Tina, you could use a chest (filled with corn) with a vacuum pump and a some daisy-chained timers to auto-feed her every so often. Been too long since I played, so I can't remember the max time on a timer.

Idk if you are interested in something like this but if you put a lvl 1 sensor in front of the tire at the launcher looking up on the floor level, use 1 tire instead of 2 (so it spins up faster, tho it still might work with 2) and just connect it to the engine you can jump across just by walking over the launcher. I tested it and you go the same distance as if the tire was spinning constantly. It would be faster than current setup and the bridge. Also, cool bridge.

Tbf Scrapman did it via different method. This bridge is anchored on both sides via welding, the only interactive parts are bearing rotations. Suspended base's bridges were affixed by jamming a free-floating locking hook into one end, that adds a crapload of constant physics calculations.

Kan if you have the bridge have slits in it it will half the weight and you can put a railing on it. you can also use 3 sections instead of 6 on each side and it may cause less lag.

You should make offroad capable vehicles that act as rvs and have all kinds of things to need to survive and make small temporary bases to camp out in so you could travel around the map for days at a time. You could have soil bags in them, maybe a few chests of food and materials, beds, and a cook and craft bot. If you did it right, I feel it would be really cool.

Yes! This is epic! A monorail would be cool! I’ve found the best way to do a monorail is not to use too many wheels, use the lowest friction blocks instead, which I believe is the wire mesh.

I'd love to see a monorail line to the other big trees in the world, then you could like set up outposts and quickly get around the world and possibly even transport stuff without having to worry about bots or going over terrain, if the project wasn't crazy enough already you could even try to collect enough resources to use item tubes as the lines so you can transport stuff without even using the cars

Please start the next video with a bridge battle of hammers. First to fall off or exit the bridge loses (like if you got knocked onto either tree platform). It reminds me of that one episode of Samurai Jack where we meet the scotsman trying to cross from the opposite direction but the bridge itself is too thin to let the other pass, so they end up fighting just to get across.
